Update 9/5/21

Hubby kept telling me that he heard motors turning on and off. I sat in the Florida room with him and heard it too. I said, "It sounds like the AC unit". Sure enough. The AC unit was turning on and off, on and off. Our AC unit is on the fritz! So I went and turned the AC off; and Tuesday morning I will have to call our HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) company. The unit is still under warranty; so there shouldn't be a charge for the visit...just for parts and labor. Things always seem to happen on the weekend...especially on a holiday weekend. I'm actually glad this happened before our vacation because it would have turned on and off for weeks! Our little housekeeper still hasn't had time to come over. Next week is the 4th week. I hope she doesn't quit. How are things in your neck of the woods? Photo Credit: In an email from a friend

I love the picture too! I figure it's probably going to be expensive. Better that it happened now than when we were gone.

@DocAndersen The company that installed the furnace and AC is scheduling for NOVEMBER 12. I called a couple more outfits. Will hear from them tomorrow.

@sallypup She had to leave. She got a call while she was here that she's been exposed to COVID-19.

Hope the AC gets fixed. If that happens to my AC here, I won't be able to go upstairs.

Tough being without A/C on a hot humid day. It's not Fall for another week. Well, one silver lining, as you mentioned it happened before you went on vacation. Stay cool!

And why do A/C units only seem to break down in the summer? Mine went out last summer. Thankfully, I was able to get the repair guy out right away and it only took him 4 hours to fix. But that was four miserable hours of my life that I'll never get back.

I know what you're saying about things always breaking down a weekend - or a long weekend if there is one available. Cute picture.

Oh no! The a/c always goes out on a weekend for us, too. And besides our own a/c, we have to worry about rental properties, as well. I had to replace an a/c unit at my rental condo last month. It was $7200. Yikes! I hope your repair is inexpensive.

We replaced the heating and AC unit 5 years ago at our rental. It's been 9 here at home. I'm hoping that they can fix it before we leave on vacation.
