Oh, I know. I do not feel smart enough to write about any of those things. Somehow not being smart does not stop others, though.

My mom passed away three days before Thanksgiving (in 2002). It's hard to go through Thanksgiving without thinking about that.

Yet sometimes we get inspired or enlightened. It does not change my politics, nor my religious beliefs to be here, but it does change my perspective on my own day to day living.

I have a feeling more people respond to the mundane. I have not watched much television in years.

@GardenGerty This is not only your feeling. It is the truth! An evergreen topic which has been successful for years is the description of household chores. I've never understood why I should read and rate that someone washed their clothes in the washing machine and then put them in the dryer, but I know that many do. Such posts always get many reads and rates. A well written book review never gets many reads.

I always told my kids if they were bored they had not furnished their minds properly. And like you, it seems if I think of something awful, it is just likely to happen.

@JudyEv My kids grew up with a love of books and creative activities. I should have had them do more chores as well, but I did not.

@GardenGerty You saying that to your kids reminds me of my mother. If I ever said I had nothing to do, she would send me off to sweep the verandah!

Oh I know, and I am really not about hurting feelings or being upset.

The only thing I like sweet is soda or lemonade. I will not come to blows over it, though. My southern grandma did not make sweet tea, but she made strong tea that was almost ruby red in the sunlight. I was a sweetened tea girl at that time and it was fun to stir the sugar in to her big goblet style glasses and watch the crystals swirl around the ice.

@GardenGerty I remember my grandmother making tea the same way. My brother and I loved stirring in the sugar!

I mostly just stay home or go to work, so not a lot of funny or dramatic in my life either.

Yes, that is true. I have good friends here who always want to hear from me, and whom I always follow. We do not have to be exciting to be friends.
