So, as I was saying…

Had a phone call from our older sister-in-law asking if we could pick her up at the airport in Florida as we always do. She was married to my hubby’s brother. However, she beat us down, and we asked her to pick us up from the airport, which she did. I called my brother shortly after we arrived at our condo. He also has a place in our condo association, but he was out and didn’t answer the phone. On our way to dinner with our sister-in-law that same day, my brother called. He wanted to know why we didn’t call him for a ride from the airport. No big deal, but he told me he had a runny nose. I called him the following day, and guess what? If you guessed he had covid, you are right. Needless to say, I didn’t see him at all while visiting Florida. Hubs did after he was better, but from a distance. Just quick small talk and a wave. Our son, who came to visit several days later, was working by the pool, and saw his uncle on his lanai coughing and hacking. Soooooooo glad we didn’t have him pick us up at the airport. As it was, we doubled masked on the plane, didn’t eat or drink, and sanitized our hands like crazy. Have you gotten any Covid variant?

Oh my goodness, I am so glad he missed the call and he was not the one who picked you up at the airport. Things are getting better here, Omicron is the last official known.

@DianneN - No matter what the authorities say or decide, we continue to be careful, so many vaccinated are now sick, I do not want to take risks.

@LadyDuck I feel the same as you. We’ve been lucky so far, and want to stay covid free.

We wouldn’t let him drive us back to the airport even though he was well over his little “cold” It’s beginning to get better here, too, but not enough for me, yet.

Not to my knowledge, but I am wondering if I had it last year when I had pink eye. I am not prone to pink eye, and that is supposed to be one of the symptoms. The hairdresser the other day was telling me she thought she had a sinus infection at one point, and it turned out to be Omicron.

They say that if you come down with cold-like symptoms, it could very well be covid. Hope you didn’t have it.

@DianneN I sort of hope I did, then I would have more immunity. However, not that worried about it at the moment.

@snowy22315 I don’t buy that immunity, too much. Rather not get it. Omicron seems to be going down little by little now - at least here.

Nope and I'm glad he didn't pick you up, too. Some people on myLot have been telling me I shouldn't worry about getting Covid since I've been vaccinated. When I pointed out they don't have heart problems, kidney problems and a thyroid problem, they stopped saying anything about it but it still bugs me.

@DianneN You're welcome. I'm glad he's better now, at least. I think I'd be asking if he's still taking proper precautions against getting it again. (Jeff Moffitt still takes precautions because he's gotten it two or three times now. I feel sorry for him and glad he's healthy enough to keep fighting it off.) One friend here asks me all the time why I'm not getting out and about except for groceries and doctor visits. I've explained until I'm tired of explaining. I asked him yesterday if he's really never heard of "comorbidity deaths". He still hasn't replied to my question.

@DianneN You're welcome. I'm glad he's trying, at least. Yeah, I hope Jeff doesn't end up with any long term effects. That's exactly what Pretty and I do, too. We get some odd looks, but... *shrug* I'm not paying their doctor or hospital bills. Maybe...

@DaddyEvil Thanks. He has had all the shots and booster, wears a mask, etc. probably caught it from his unvaxed son in Miami, who must be a carrier. Poor Jeff had it three times. He was truly ill each time. I’m pretty much living like you, not because I have health issues, but because I worry about long term effects. When we are out and about, I double mask and follow the old protocols. I don’t trust anyone. Maybe he will get back to you after he looks up the answet, lol, or perhaps he’s been stricken by the virus.

@wolfgirl569 I am really glad you got your shots. Yes, she’s too young, but her father must do everything possible to keep her protected by protecting himself. He sounds like my nephew, the antivaxer. He probably got my brother, his father, sick.

Oh gosh that’s really lucky you didn’t call him for a ride or you may have caught it. I haven’t gotten corona thankfully. My son and stepson came down with it August 2 and my daughter just had it last week.
