Sometimes all it takes is a simple solution to solve a problem.
My kitchen counters are a horse-shoe or U shaped and two corners are dark, Makes it difficult when you're trying to do something and there isn't enough light.
Even with the overhead lights on and the light over the island neither of these two corners have enough light.
My daughter came up with idea to get under the cabinet lights and she found some on Amazon.
These are magnetic and rechargeable so no batteries needed and you just have to plug them in for a charge (just like your phone).
Now it's easier to see when you're working in the kitchen and I'm no longer in the dark

Oh, ok. My cupboards are more or less wood as well, no metal to speak of.

You probably could use them on metal but my cabinets are wood. It came with an adhesive strip that the magnetic strip adheres too and then the light part can be just clipped on and off for recharging.

She's smarter than me. I was going to have my son put in all new lights in the kitchen.

We had to do that when we moved into this house. The counter was always dark. (The overhead light was blocked by a wooden thing around the light and the light over the sink is blocked by the cabinets.) We found the same type of solution.

We have those lights in our torches. I use them in my bedroom sometimes at night.

Oh that sounds great. I hate when I do not have enough light.

That's a great idea and so much easier, and cheaper, than getting an electrician in to fix the problem.
