It's Saturday morning in my part of the world, and another hot one is forecast for today. Up until about a week ago, the weather conditions hadn't been so bad this summer, although we've had record high temperatures. But the humidity was really low, so it made it feel better than normal. But now the humidity and daily afternoon thunderstorms have fired up and it's officially miserable. But such is life.
Nothing really exciting happening this weekend, as it looks like it may storm most of the time. I thought about a quick day trip to Disney World, but really didn't want to deal with the heat, humidity and crowds. I'll just enjoy the comfort of my A/C inside my house.
The NHL (National Hockey League) released the 2022/2023 schedule this week, and I can't wait for the season to begin in October. I noticed that my favorite team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, will be playing in Nashville on November 19. It also happens to be the same day my favorite college football team, the Florida Gators, will be playing Vanderbilt in Nashville. I am definitely planning a road trip that weekend. Luckily, the football game will be a day game, and the hockey game will be a night game. Any myLotters live in the Nashville area?
So that's it for me. A boring, lazy weekend. I don't get too many of those, so I plan on enjoying it. What are all of you up to this weekend?

@moffittjc muddy roads on rainy days are a common sight. I hate when water logs on the road and there are traffic jams on the road due to it. Otherwise, I like the rainy season the most.

The humidity is very very low here today. I told my husband to be careful touching the computer cables.
Enjoy your road trips, we will go out early tomorrow morning for a hike, but we do not take the car, the roads are crowded with tourists.

@LadyDuck We're in the middle of some really bad thunderstorms right now, with howling winds and thunder and lightning all over the place. I picked a good weekend to not do anything!

I would love to go for a hike right now, but this is not a good time of year to be outdoors in Florida. Too hot, too much humidity, and too many thunderstorms.

I woke up not too long ago and watered plants again. It looked like rain this morning before I went to bed so we didn't water plants then. They really needed it when I woke up.
It's been very hot in southern Missouri for the past two weeks. In the high 90s and creeping into the low 100s. The heat index has been around 110F here. We were hoping for rain but the clouds have cleared out now.
Nothing going on here. I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Yeah, our heat index has been hovering near 110 also. I feel like a prisoner trapped inside my home during the summer.

Everytime the other half sees a post about the Gators playing the Vols he shows it to me. lol.
We were going to go out on the river this weekend, and we are both sick. So that will have to wait until tomorrow.

We went to look at two houses this morning. One I really liked and the other I really disliked. I didn’t even want to get out of the car to look at the second place. My husband was all fired up about it though so I gave it the benefit of the doubt even though there was such a huge hill to walk down to get to the house. I swear that the top of the hill was level with the top of the house. So needless to say we are not getting that house I’m not sure I can talk him into the first house either.

@moffittjc the house we are interested in belonged to his grandfather. We put in an offer and although it is much lower than the asking price we feel it is a reasonable offer.
So far we are the only ones that have shown interest in this property and the sellers are going to be moving south.

Happy Saturday! Kicking it at home sounds good . . . safe, comfortable, save the energy to be out at another time. Well that'll be a fun sports weekend - oh man, fall is going to come up soon enough. We're just playing it by ear this weekend . . . debating whether or not to go hiking today . . . among other plans that may or may not happen.

! We ended up not hiking yesterday as it got late (went to a local art festivial instead). Today we did the hike but went a lot earlier . . . it did get hot . . . so then we ended up at the beach afterwards (where it was actually overcast and kinda cold!). Yah, I will complain in any weather

I would love to go hiking right now if it wasn’t for the fact that 1) I’d be completely soaked from head to toe in sweat after about 30 seconds; and 2) the heat would sap all my strength and will to live after about 42 seconds! Lol

Thanks! I love sunsets and sunrises. I see sunsets all the time, but I rarely get to see sunrises, so they are always much more special to me.

@flapiz If I took the photo, then yes I can distinguish between the two! Haha. But seriously, most of the time I can tell the difference between a sunrise and sunset photo. But sometimes it can be a challenge to know which is which.

My life usually gets pretty boring during the summer months. It's so hot and humid outside that I just don't want to do anything that requires me to leave the comfort of my air-conditioned home! lol

Only high humidity or also rain so you avoid fires everywhere? And do you have a house built for heat? So you can stay inside and be comfortable.
Most of Europe is too warm and too dry I think. We do not have this problem. I think we're getting the rain from everyone else, and it's a whopping 12C degrees. It's like a rather wet autumn day.
At least no danger for sunburns and other summer dangers right now.

We're still very good at cold and humid, although we'll get 23C today. Warmest day in two weeks. Even the mosquitoes think this summer is too cold.

Sweet! I used to play on both a mens and a co-ed team. I played Monday/Wednesday mens, and Friday co-ed. We also used to travel a lot to play tournaments. Those were fun times. Hope you do well in your tournament.
