Foggy Moon Snapped From Inside

Just sat down on the sofa last night, right at dark. Looked out the glass doors and saw the foggy moon. Snapped a quick photo with my iPhone from the sofa.
I was immediately taken back to a time in my life that was not good. I didn't stay there in my mind. But it is amazing how that can happen so fast.
When you have PTSD, moments can happen too quickly for you to control them. This happened when I saw the moon. But thankfully I was able to redirect my thoughts to what was on television at the time.
Life has a way of trying to take you under sometimes. But our brains can be redirected to another place. Kind of snaps you out of your thoughts.
Hope your day has been a good one. Got laundry done here and enjoyed the garden again. Sunshine and a a breeze most of the day.
Photo is mine.

Perfumes, songs and photos do connect us to memories that sometimes we want to run away from. Good you managed to run away That moon photo is stunning.

@allknowing You are right. Smells are another thing that can take me back to that place. I am learning over the years how to deal thank goodness. Keep me from losing my mind to be honest.

@CarolDM You're welcome.
Have you been having very foggy mornings this week? We've been able to still see the street in front of the house but I can't see the houses across the street. I love foggy mornings, as long as I don't have to drive in the fog.

Yes, sometimes that can happen, in just a flash.
But when we remember the beauty of what brought that on, we can change our thoughts to something positive.
Its a soon to be foggy night here, and the almost full moon is somewhat hidden from the fog. But as it drifts, you catch a glimpse and then it is gone again.

Exactly. Those flashes are something else. They can throw us off the rails. But I was paying attention and found something to hold onto just in time. Same here with the moon. I was surprised to see this as I sat on the sofa. Such a lovely evening. Thoughts are with you two as I sign off for now.

A bright moon peering through the dark bluish clouds. Kind of like a sight you would see around Halloween. Having focus on the present can erase those painful memories. Glad you found that focus!

@CarolDM I think we all suffer from past demons and unpleasant memories. Focusing on the present helps ease those thoughts away...

@dgobucks226 Oh I agree but this moment caught me off guard. Having PTSD you can't always be prepared, that is the root of the disorder. But I got through it.

I have to agree how something can trigger a memory either good or bad.
Pretty picture of the moon and glad you were able to redirect your thoughts.

Gorgeous moon. I see the full moon from my living room window now. It feels like just yesterday that I could wander my own acres and see the moon in fullness. I am working on being grateful for what I do continue to have. Hugs from me to you.
