Not Loved, Let Down

Oh my goodness Angie, do I have to understand that love is over and he has become abusive. I remember when you were so happy.

So very hard to go through. You say ''there is no me.'' But there is a you. You will emerge from this and be stronger than ever. I personally know how hard this is, very tough. It sounds like he changed a lot, and is no longer who he used to be. Sometimes that happens. I hope there is a ray of sun that comes out for you to find your way again. Never, ever give up. There is a light!

This is sad. Not 'that they let you down,' necessarily; but more like "the sad state of affairs in the merged worlds of 'Romance' & 'Practical Living.'" I'm having to stay focused on the latter, while the former is constantly trying to distract me. The latter HAS to constantly be reminded, "Jay (that's me) is ENOUGH! People love him! If it seems like they are ignoring him right now, that's just because they have to deal with the same individual concerns as Jay has. (I don't know why I'm talking about me in the third-person; except that that's how I started, and now I'm stuck ) "Jay needs to remember that 'Happy Jay' is almost-never 'The Goal'---it's a side-effect of achieving the group/couple's goal, which is something like 'extended life-supplication' (feeding, comfort, the next accomplishment)."

I am so sorry that it did not work out for you. Love is a two way street. Both people have to give and take. If one does not the relationship is over.

I remember you were so happy. I was thinking when we fall in love, what's next is we fall out of love. Our poor battered hearts. Life keeps changing.

I wish we were closer. Any of us who love you would be there to listen and to remind you of you. "A friend knows the song in your heart, and sings it back to you when you have forgotten the tune".

You're expressing your frustration through this poem. So sad.

Don’t ever change who you are to please someone else, no matter how much you love them! If he doesn’t love you the way you are, wait for someone else who will. My Momma always said “there’s plenty more fish in the sea!”
