Hubs went to the new cardiologist yesterday. He changed the dosage on one of his meds. The other cardiologist is the "electrician"; this one is the "plumber" as it was explained to me. One tries to keep his heart in rhythm...the other one specializes with the inner workings of his heart. Or so I believe... Breakfast - Strawberry filled breakfast bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Salisbury steak, noodles, green beans, Swiss chard and peaches Dessert/Snack - Cinnamon muffin Dinner - Chicken nuggets and potato salad What did you eat yesterday? @LindaOHio I hope the same, shocking the heart must be so hard on the organ itself.

@Juliaacv Yes, and I'm always worried that they can't start it up again!

Yesterday, I had a cheese omelet made with plant-based cheese and potato. Lunch was a veggie burger and Bushes Baked beans, onion flavor. Snack - a dough I made up of unsweetened shredded coconut, unsweetened applesauce, egg, a little cinnamon, baking powder, and pure vanilla extract and ghee. I put it in the microwave. It turned out great. Right now, I'm on a vegetarian diet. This is the last week for it. I was told it would help me lose weight. It hasn't. I'm back on Paleo.

@LindaOHio Until I got stupid last year, I had lost 80 pounds with it. I've gained back 30. My doctor recommended the Mediterranean. I maintained. My Gastro said I need high fiber. I maintained. I don't want to maintain. I need to lose. I'm back on the Paleo diet. It has no grains, no dairy, and no cane sugar. So, I eat a lot of veggie-based pasta, non-dairy, almond, coconut, and arrowroot flour. I should start to see a change by Christmas. At least I hope so as I will be back on what works well for me.

I'm sorry the vegetarian diet didn't work for you. What is the Paleo diet? I find the older I get, the easier I gain weight and can't get it off!

@just4him That's the hard part. Finding what works for you. I'm so glad you found it. 80 pounds is quite an accomplishment. Good luck!

Glad to hear it, and that seems to be a well oiled team he has on his side. Good news. I had an Impossible Whopper and some onion rings from Burger King last night.

Are you on the road still? Thanks. We are hoping that his heart comes out of AFIB and doesn't have to be shocked again. He's really bad about taking his meds even though I'm constantly reminding him.

@porwest Glad you're back home safe and sound. He doesn't talk about it much; but he's depressed and doesn't think he has long to live. I keep trying to get him to go to a doctor and talk to him about it.

@LindaOHio Hopefully he gets better at getting those doses in. I suppose one can get to an age where they stop caring a little bit. But I don't know that that is his situation. I am back home now.

Your cardiologists had a good way of explaining their functions to you - an electrician and a plumber. It makes it easier to understand somewhere.
