Shrimp?

Evidence dating back to 600 A.D. shows that there was shrimping off the southeast coast of North America.
There are thousands of species of shrimp; and the industry is worth $50 billion a year. Many shrimp are "farmed" these days in additional to being fished for commercially. Larger shrimp are called prawns. The shrimp live near the sea floor of most coasts and estuaries as well as rivers and lakes. Marine species can be found at a depth of 16,000 feet (5,000 meters).
Two species of Merguia shrimp spend a significant part of their life on land in the mangroves.
Personally, I like crab, lobster, scallops and clam strips; but I cannot get over the texture of shrimp and don't eat them.
Do you like shrimp? What's your favorite way of having them?

I am a vegetarian by choice but at times I do try shrimps and fishes or even chicken. No red meat. Earlier I would relish prawns and shrimps, but in the last six years, I have developed allergies for them. I get stomach pain and vomitting soon after eating it

I do like shrimp surprisingly since I'm really not fond of fish.

The texture of crustaceans as well as the flavor of crustaceans is very different. The interesting thing about crustaceans is that they are very closely related to insects. But we seem to get past that little thought when it comes to them but would never consider eating a bug. lol

The shrimp have this firm, "crunchy" feel that I just don't like.

No, I don’t like shrimp and I haven’t since 1973 when I found out the very hard way that I’m allergic to it. (Don’t ask, it involves upchucking.) But, like my not drinking coffee, that leaves more seafood for YOU!!!!!!

Yes, like shrimp a lot. Except for shrimp curry or stew, prefer beef curry & stews. Hmm, shrimp tempura, one of my favorites.

To me I don't find that shrimp has all that much difference in texture than crab, lobster, scallops or clams. But that's just me. But then I also LOVE shrimp. And I like it any way you can eat it. Cold from boiled with cocktail sauce. Hot with cocktail sauce. Peel and eat or just eat. Fried. Popcorned. No shrimp is safe from my jaws. lol

If the clam strips aren't overcooked, they're good.
