The sewer cleaning guy showed up at around 8:15 yesterday and found an obstruction in the drain. He blew it out and then hooked up a pump to pump out the water. He left it there until around 4 pm. There was still water in the basement; but the drain was working. He charged $300 which we felt was more than fair. I think he gave us a break. When the water has receded, we will get the water heater replaced. I could sure use a shower!!! I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out.
Yesterday's "storm" wasn't too bad. By the end of the day some of the s**w was melting; and we got a little bit of rain.
54 days until spring!
Breakfast - Oatmeal square
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Turkey, dressing, squash, mixed veggies and an apple
Dessert/Snack - Banana walnut muffin and decaf coffee
Dinner - Broccoli and an oatmeal square
What did you eat yesterday?

@LadyDuck We're figuring somewhere between $1,700-2,000.

Yes. The water heater will be expensive; so it's good that the drainage wasn't too bad.

Are any of your things going to be ruined due to the water setting in there for days?

sounds like a lot of work to get the water out. But that's good that work is being done on it.
That's good the storm wasn't too bad.
I am not looking forward to the weather in a few days, the nighttime temps will be close to zero.
Ready for summer now.

We have several issues we need to bring in a plumber for. They are hard to find around here.

I would imagine there is going to be a lot of cleanup necessary and damage assessments. You hiring that out too?
For dinner I had an Impossible Whopper and some onion rings. I think the late night crew was not too "on top of things," as my food came way too quick and was a bit dry and not so good. I think it had been sitting there a while.

No. Things are floating around and the couch will be a loss (it isn't ours...it was there when we moved in); but everything will just have to dry out. Sorry your dinner was a miss.
