Sunny, Cold and Lots of Wind

Happy Friday Everyone! Brrrr it's a cold start to this Friday morning but the sun is shining so that always makes me smile. Between the artic temperatures that will be arriving and the gusting wind it would be a miserable day if the sun was hiding.
Didn't put the garbage out because of the wind. I've been listening to neighbors pails blowing over and I'm hoping that trash doesn't come flying around since the garbage men haven't come yet. It's bad enough when the pails are empty and come careening down the street.
I've been online looking to see who has what on sale this week so I can make a grocery list. I hope that's not the highlight of my day 
Last week we did a pick-up from Sams Club and got a huge loin of pork for ony $2 a pound. I cut it up into three nice size roasts and the rest into boneless pork chops. Since it is way more than we would eat I gave one of the roasts to my oldest daughter. I'll probably make one on Sunday and the rest will go into the freezer.
Since we did the whole Sams Club last weekend this week is just ordinary food shopping for the staples. I know we need bread, milk, etc
Tonight we're having chicken (yet to be determined how it will be cooked) . We ate more chicken this week as we're trying to limit our beef.
I feel like I'm just rambling on and on so I'm going to just send you all good wishes for a good day and weekend.

I hope the meteorologists are exaggerating how cold it will get there. I hope you keep getting sunny days for a while.
We were supposed to go above freezing today but I don't think we'll make it. It has been 31F for a couple of hours... The wind gusts make it feel even colder than that.
Nothing happening here. I woke up for a bathroom break and will go back to sleep in a short bit.

@Marilynda1225 Thanks... We got to 32F and tonight is supposed to reach 21F but we aren't supposed to get any of the arctic blast that is reaching you.

Right now it's 18F with a low of 5F tonight. The wind has been pretty wild all day
Hope your temperatures got above freezing today and you got a bit of a break

The cold is on its way here. I have to go and wrap the water pipe which I'm half expecting to freeze anyway. It's a pain to thaw it back out. Hope I get lucky and it stays working.

@Marilynda1225 It runs under the camp and during this part of the winter, the cold can penetrate that far. It was a worse problem until I built a greenhouse attached to the back of the camp. It can still freeze though. I'm intending to make a small enclosure around it so that when it freezes I can take a bag of insulation out and put a space heater in with it temporarily.

Frozen pipes are no joke and I hope wrapping the water pipe helps. My sons a plumber and when we get weather like this he's always out unfreezing pipes

@Marilynda1225 Oh my...the winds are about 15 mph right now, could be a lot worse...we will get down to about 12 or 13. Cold day tomorrow too, not planning on going anywhere.

I just listened to the forecast and tonight it's going to be around 5 degrees. The wind today is pretty bad and I've spent the afternoon listening to garbage pails blow down the street. When my neighbors come home from work it will be a seek and find your garbage pail ordeal for them

It's pretty frigid here right now but thankfully no snow or ice to deal with. Next week it will be way above freezing again

It is SO COLD out there. I'm glad it will warm up tomorrow. That's a good price on pork. I limit my intake of beef as well, although it's hard to do with Meals on Wheels. Have a good day!

I try to limit my red meat to a few times a week but I don't think I could give it up entirely, My pork loin definitely was a bargain especially with the way prices are going these days

We're expecting about 5 degrees tonight and a cold weekend but next week will be back up into the 50s.

It was sunny here, and felt a little cold yesterday. We did not have the wind though. We dropped our Sam's membership as it was too inconvenient for us, but yes, what you did with your pork loin is what we would do. Lots of meat for the freezer.

I keep hearing about the cold weather over there. We will be taking winter clothes to Ireland but it is almost bound to be hot when we leave Australia.

We're getting warmer weather these days. Temperature about 17-21C which is pretty comfortable. I don't eat beef at all now. I eat pork and chicken most often. Have lamb and turkey once in a while. Have a nice weekend.

I only eat beef maybe 2x a week and have filled in other meals with pasta some nights and the rest between chicken, turkey and pork. I like turkey more than chicken but chicken is just easier to cook and more accessible. I'm not in the mood to cook a whole turkey anymore except maybe for the holidays

It is snowy and cold and windy here today.
My hubby's workplace closed and sent them home at 2pm, it was so bad outside.
I was still working when he got back home, so he got the fixings out for lasagna and made up a pan of it for supper.
That should be delicious on such a cold night.
