How old is your wallet?

I have a five year old long, zip around, navy blue Coach wallet which I bought in an outlet store abroad. I love how simple it is and the color suits my personality. It has seen better days but it’s still serving it’s purpose. Last Christmas, I got a Dior wallet from my sister. It’s beautiful but the design is too much for my liking. Bold prints and gold hardware are not my type. Lol When I opened it though, there was a hundred peso bill tucked inside. It’s superstition here to put money inside the wallet when you gift it to someone.
Do you have a dream wallet to buy?

I have a wallet, but I haven't used it in 3 years . . . and it's been in a purse that I haven't used in 3 years
. Now I use this small shoulder bag . . . it has a zippered area for $ and slots for cards, so that's been my wallet-purse . . . and that's probably about a year old. Before that, I was just using a fanny pack the whole beginning of the pandemic.

My wallet is about 35 years old. I lost my last wallet on a trip and my first wife bought the one I use now shortly before Pretty was born. It's just a plain black leather wallet but it suits me. (Pretty will be 35 on February 22nd.)

@sol_cee Yes, it has and it's still in good shape, too. It's checkbook cover that has compartments in it for four cards. Of course, each compartment has three cards shoved into each slot... but I keep them separated. My driver's license, car insurance and my life insurance card are in one slot. I carry Pretty's State ID, her insurance card and her debit card in one of the slots (Pretty doesn't carry a purse, so asked me to carry her important cards for her.)... etc.
It's very handy...

I have a couple of wallets that have been gifted but somehow I have never used them. There is one wallet that is always in my bag that I have been using for many years now. And one more wallet that is in the cupboard. I like the wallet very much and keep putting extra cash in that to use in emergencies.

I got a cheap nylon cloth one that folds and uses velcro to stay shut. It's almost brand new. Got it late last year because my previous one was falling apart.

@sol_cee You're right. As long as it serves its purpose I could care less.

The wallet that is in my handbag is 23 years old. I know for sure because I bought it to use here when we bought this house. We put a coin in the box when we offer handkerchiefs. The person who receives the box give back the coin "as a payment", so that the handkerchiefs will not bring "tears".

My current wallet is just over a year old, my son got it for me for Christmas last year (Christmas of 2021). I usually get about 4-5 years out of a wallet before I have to get a new one.

@sol_cee I would be like your father, if my son didn't give me a new wallet every few years, I would keep my old one forever until it all fell apart!

I am not sure how old it is but I am sure it already needs a replacement. It has a big tear already in front, but still using it... I can't find something similar to it. It's not really a dream wallet, but that's what I want - a wallet that has a chain.

@brokenbee whose money? And I always like going over the receipts and checking what I bought. It’s like reading a diary for me

Ha, ha, funny you should ask that question as my wallet is as old as some of my clothes. Unfortunately, I just cannot find a new one exactly with the same features as this one. I actually have a new one which I've never used sitting in a drawer in case my old one eventually falls apart, lol.
I like that money tradition a lot

@sol_cee Thanks.Similarly when we give some sweets or snacks to our friends or relatives in a tiffin box; they never return empty tiffin box. They return it after filling it with sweets or snacks.
