Did I See a Shark in the Backyard?

I am calling all myLot friends for help. Any idea what this is? I noticed a school of these fins in the brackish water (a mixture of fresh and salt water) a couple of times. I had been taking a video of a seaplane landing and taking off, and just noticed this fin close to shore when looking at my videos. Sorry the photo isn’t better. Dolphins and manatees sometimes visit here, but I don’t think it’s a dolphin. Could it be a blacktip shark? My younger son is a shark aficionado, but has no idea. Do you?

I'm hoping someone here is more savvy about sea creatures. It could be anything with a dorsal fin. Wish I knew.

It looks like a dolphin though not sure about it. Sharks dont come to shore I guess they are found in deep water.

Bull sharks and many other sharks come close to the shore in many areas such as rivers, bays, and marshes. One recently killed a 16 year old girl in a river in Australia by biting off her entire leg. The sharks and fish have access here directly from at least two Atlantic Ocean inlets.

Orcas will beach themselves trying to catch seals or penguins then squirm and wiggle their way back into the water.

@snowy22315 Anything that bites, stings, or sucks blood is on my nasty things list. Doodles helped me resolve my mouse fright, but I never want to see them in my house.

It looks like a dolphin. Sharks usually do not come that close to shore.

@DianneN The shark figure since we are eating their fish they will eat us. Did you know that ten thousand crabs just disappeared and no one knows what happened to them.

@jstory07 Yes, I heard that on the news a few months ago. I heard billions of snow crabs disappeared near Alaska. I think they blamed on the environment.

It may be a dolphin, but some sharks do come very close to shore.

I enlarged the photo and it does not seem a shark fin, but the tail of a big fish, may be a dolphin.

@DianneN The one with his legs in the water does not seem to care, I am pretty sure it's not a shark.

I was working at a marina once in La Paz Baja California. I had never seen sharks nor dolphins ever. I was spraying kerosene on the wooden docks which was the task I was assigned for almost two weeks. One day while working, I saw a flint coming out of the water like the one in your picture. At first, I thought it was a shark but when the fish came closer, I discovered it was a dolphin I really can´t tell nor distinguish between a shark ´s nor dolphin´s flint

@DianneN Since you feel it does not look like a dolphin so I believe it could be a shark. Have there been many sharks around?

@Hannihar Dolphins are very sweet and smart mammals. They followed us on a little boat once in Cozumel. I've seen them in a few performances over the years. Unfortunately, sharks prey on the small and sick dolphins.

@DianneN Do sharks eat dolphins? I love dolphins and have never really seen one up close. There was a place in Tel Aviv that had them but there was a terrorist attack and they did not open again. In Eilat you can go to the show and see dolphins but you have to buy tickets ahead of time. I never did. I am glad it was a dolphin and not a shark. I love dolphins.

What I know is that sharks tend to be afraid of humans. So, it's unlikely that it's a shark, because there are lots of humans around. But I'm not sure either.
