Ears

Ears... Have you ever noticed? They are as different as fingerprints. Long, short, big, small, big lobes, small lobes, lie flat against the heat or they stick out, some are hairy, some are pierced once or many times and some have ear spacers. They come in many different shapes too. In addition to being used for hearing, ears can carry a myriad of jewelry choices, hearing aids or a phone. My ears lie flat against my head, are not too small or too large; and I have relatively small lobes. No piercings. What are your ears like? Do you have piercings? How many? Do you have ear spacers? I do not have piercings, I do not even know what ear spacers are. My ears are similar to the one in the photo.

Ear spacers are those ring-shaped things that are placed in a hole in your ear...it stretches the hole out. See pic.

@LindaOHio Some do and some don't. I had diamond studs that my grandfather made for my grandmother when he worked in Paris to save up money to come to the US. No one else in the family had pierced ears, so I got them. I never take those earrings off, but had a second piercing just so I could wear other earrings.

My ears have three piercings. They also have slits in the lobe because I used to wear heavy earrings.

@LindaOHio having more ear piercing kind of liberates me. I want a tattoo but I do not have the gut to do it.

I have small ears. They don't lie flat against the head, but they don't stick out either. No piercings of any kind. I do have hearing aids, but usually, they are in the charging unit. I hear better without them. Though there are times I need them and that's becoming more frequent.

I bought some hearing aids for my husband per his request. They sit in the box. :-(

@LindaOHio I listened to my son when he said I couldn't hear. When I went to my doctor, we discussed it and he sent me to the audiologist. I was excited to get them at first, but then I noticed I heard better without them. Now, it seems to be changing. I put the closed captioning on the TV so I could understand what they were saying because even with my hearing aids I couldn't understand what was being said. I went back to the audiologist to have my hearing checked again, and it hasn't changed. So, now, I need to try to remember to wear them.

@just4him My husband is always telling me that I don't speak loud enough or that I mumble! He should use the hearing aids. I always put on the closed captioning because the sound is terrible on my set. I don't need hearing aids yet. Thanks you for sharing your experiences.

I don't think I have any distinctive ear characteristics, large, small, or otherwise. However, my nose is another story, lol. Fun ear facts: Your ears keep “growing” with age. Ears never sleep. Your ears have the smallest bones found in the human body.

My ears are the regular sizes with one piercing each that I rarely used. But when I have a boyish haircut, they stick like sore thumbs.

Did you know your ears are like your fingerprints they are unique and not two people have the same ears. You are right there is a lot of things you can do to your ears. I have earrings actually double earrings since mine are double pierced since I was 15.

@LindaOHio Its possible even more so if you leave behind some of your skin partials it's a good way to determine who a person. A lot of things go into forensics so I can't say how true it is or how correct they could get. Your actually fingerprints and footprint, and teeth as well as your blood are all very good way to determine someone identity.

When I was born my mom made sure my ears would be close to my head and always put bonnets on me. I have pierced ears and still put in earrings every day to make sure the piercings don't close, I don't think they would at this stage of the game but who knows? I have many earrings of all kinds I no longer have anywhere to got with,

I got my ears pierced once but then let the holes grow over. Other than the fact that they itch almost all the time, my ears are pretty ordinary. I have read that your ear lobes continually grow but I don't know if that's a fact or not.

I never really paid attention lol. My ears are just normal sized/shaped lol. I had some surgery on them when I was younger because I always was having earaches. I do have piercings, just one in each ear.

Now you've made me try to get a shot of my ear. I have read that an ear is unique to the person but that it can be used to identify the family linage.
