A great way to stop conversation

We had a few friends around on Pancake Tuesday. We met in the evening after we’d all been to the movies and came back to our house for a pancake supper. The pancakes were delicious and later we passed round the box of Lindt chocolates that you can see in the photo. Lindts are my favourite. They are quite big ‘balls’ of chocolate with a hardish centre. You can’t really bite into them but have to put the whole thing in your mouth. What was interesting and quite funny was that, once we’d all popped our chocolates in our mouths, no-one could speak and there was this sudden silence whereas before we’d all been talking at once!

What a great way to silence someone if you think they're talking too much

We have tried Lindt chocolates before. We like Dove's dark chocolate the best. That's funny everyone stopped talking to enjoy their piece of candy.

We all had our mouths full of chocolate and obviously we'd all been taught not to speak with our mouths full so we all kept quiet.

Perhaps they need time to concentrate with that chocolate in their mouth

After a very short time, you can break the chocolate in half but you'd still be talking with your mouth half-full.

@JudyEv A good way to get some silence if people were being noisy, though.

It was funny as we'd all been chattering away and suddenly we're sitting quietly and trying to eat our chocolates.

Not being able to bite doesn't matter if you are on your own but it's not so good in a crowd. lol I like liquor chocolates too.

@LadyDuck I buy Lindt just for me. For some reason they are often out on special. Vince buys chocolate with roasted almonds for himself.

For me, if I want to stop one's conversation, I would just stop talking and listening, and the other party will stop talking too.

@JudyEv It sounds like a fun evening you had. Pancakes are really good and I have not had them in ages. I used to love chocolate chips in them with butter on top and syrup on the butter. I bet it was very quiet when everyone popped the whole chocolate in their mouth and could not talk.
