Grueling Day Ahead

Ah, business trips. This one will not be an overnighter, but in some ways that makes it a bit worse.
I have to do the Kentucky run, which is a day trip that runs through Owensboro, Kentucky with a couple of stops. Then to Madisonville, Kentucky, Henderson, Kentucky, down through Paducah and into Metropolis, Illinois and then back home.
The trip only has 6 stops, but includes about 8+ hours of drive time round trip. So, it will be about a 12 hour day for me.
I am not looking forward to the day. But the trip does have good prospects, so it is the beast that must be conquered.

Hope you won't be having any rain or storm in between the trips as @fourwalls mentioned.

We had big winds and several tornadoes here. But all is well now, no damage here. Wednesday it's supposed to be like 65? And then maybe snow/sleet on Friday night. Nothing like having all the seasons in one week! Take care.

That does sound like a grueling day for you. Guess it's worth it for the prospects but that's a lot of time to spend in the car.

At least once a week, I have to put in a 12 hour day. But with no driving. It is definitely a beast that must be conquered. Hope you get through all of that unscathed.

@porwest I had frequent 10-12 hour days when I worked for the City of Gainesville, but unfortunately I was a salaried manager.

Years back working long, long hours was the norm for me. I did 12-hour shifts when I worked for Quad Graphics back in the day, and when I worked for Coca-Cola I was in management. Luckily HOURLY paid management. My days were often 14 hours and sometimes more since I started n hour before my shift started for various prep and whatnot, PLUS, we had no third shift so we had to run until our product was finished AND had to remain there after everyone left finishing up paperwork. It was 12-14+ hours a day 6 days a week. I made some bank, though.

@moffittjc They tried several times to get me to go salary at Coke and I told them to pound sand. I simply refused to do it.
