I’m being followed

Okay not by someone creepy in real life but I am being followed.. here at myLot.
I get so many follows by people who are new here and just follow everyone they can thinking that will somehow make them earn here.
So I get very excited when I see that someone established here for along time thinks I’m interesting enough to want to follow me and my posts. That happened once about two months ago and just today. It made my day.
I can think of one person I have followed but other than that I can’t think of the last time I followed someone new. I can barely keep up with the people I already follow but am thinking I should maybe branch out and follow some more people.
What do you think? Does it make you happy to see someone you know on here is following you? How do you decide who you will follow or are you like me and quit following people a long time ago?

I had to make sure I’m stalking….I mean following you here on myLot after seeing this post. 
I don’t like the newbies with zero posts, zero comments, zero mentions, and zero interactions following 114 people. Something definitely not kosher in that vat of dill pickles.

@Fourwalls I think you are the one I recall following me two months ago I was excited about.
They just don’t understand it won’t help them out to simply follow people.

I decide who I follow by if they comment on my stuff and once
I do the same back to their posts they comment back on my comments . There is a couple people I comment on their stuff and they don’t return comments back .

@Tina30219 I really like when people comment on my posts after I comment on there’s but there are those who I just enjoy reading their posts even if they don’t have the time or want to read mine.

I do get some satisfaction when it is a long time member. The new members often do not have anything posted, so I do not follow back.

Is that really a pipe or an Avon aftershave bottle?
I only follow people here when they've responded to my posts and had something worthwhile to add or it turns out we have something in common.

@Barbaraprz oh you are genius I showed my husband this pipe and he said it was cool neither of had any idea it was a not a real pipe. Looking online it definitely is an Avon bottle. I have edited my post. Thank you!

I get a lot of that too. I like to see those I know following me. I think I am a part of a nice group on here. Some very nice men and women choose to follow me and answer my posts. I do go through occasionally and weed out some with no bios mentioned and that I don't recall having had a comment from in quite some time. I hope Mylot sticks around for a long time to come. I enjoy it.

@celticeagle that’s how I feel I really like the people I already follow. Taking on any more means less posts of those I follow to get to. I tend to read a lot of the same peoples posts every day though so maybe adding some new ones I know are kind and here for a long time will be good. I would be so lost without myLot!

@celticeagle years ago before I came to myLot I think there was a site called gather. I was at both for awhile until gather shut down. I loved that site.

It hardly matters to me if someone follows me or not. Yes, once a week I also get a notification that I have been followed by a user. Recently a new user followed me and asked me to follow her, I followed her but I don't think it's of any use here.

Avon used to make beautiful bottles, this Avon pipe is really beautiful.
I have people following me almost every day, I imagine that new users think that following is a way to earn.
I have spent quite a good time to remove followers. When I need to suggest posts I had too many not active.

If I read a person's post regular I will follow them. Makes it easier to keep up with new posts. I ignore those who make an account and start following people. If I see later they are being active then I might follow them

@wolfgirl569 I should do that start following those who have posts that I read a lot. Then I can keep up with some people I enjoy chatting with that I might not see posts of very often

That pipe looked so familiar to me so I'm not surprised to find out it's from Avon. I used to love Avon
When someone follows me I go to see what discussions they've posted and if they're talking about anything I'm interested in and can relate to. If they stay around I'll follow them back.
Otherwise I'm like you and can barely keep up with everyone else I do follow and always feel bad when I don't get to talk to everyone every day. But there's only so much time I can spend online .

@Marilynda1225 people usually have to be around myLot for well over a year for me to be sure I want to interact them enough to follow them. Usually once I follow someone I don’t unfollow them either but a few times I have from seeing they are rude to me or others or they don’t respond to any comments they receive. It really is hard to keep up with those I do follow already.

I have not followed anyone here in a long time. When I was new here, I would follow people and would follow back if someone followed me. But now I am above all this. I know that it actually does not serve any purpose or benefits you in anyway.

@arunima25 we thought the same then. I’m glad BarbaraPrz told me what it really was.
I don’t care if newbies follow me I just pass that notification by knowing they don’t realize it won’t help them any but it does make me happy when long time members here follow me.
