Completely Out of Whack

Normally I take my first blood pressure pill of the day at around 9am. But for whatever reason, yesterday I completely forgot, and didn't realize it until 1pm. I took it then. The second pill I usually take after dinner around 7pm or 8pm. But I told the wife I'd just take the second pill before I went to bed. Even though I am usually asleep shortly after dinner in my chair, I don't usually run off to actual bed until around midnight or later. I got in the bed around 1am, laid there for a bit and then was like, "Dammit. I forgot to take my PILL." What the hell is happening to my mind? I got up and took my second pill and said I will just stagger my first pill today to around 10am. That should put me back on track. I just got to be careful not to take the pills too close together because it messes with my blood pressure of course. I think I should be back to normal on my timing once this day is over. AM I losing my mind?

Ever thought of setting a reminder on your phone? Though you are not at that age yet... Is your blood pressure high or low?

@porwest yep, it’s hypertension.

@lovebuglena Seems like the medication works well enough, which is good. I am on a salt restriction, but I don't seem to have to watch it that much since every time I go it seems my blood pressure is being maintained.

I suffer high blood pressure, or I guess they call it hypertension. Might be a good idea to set a reminder, but it is also rare that I make a mistake.

Maybe that's what it was. I usually don't forget. But lo and behold, here we are.

@porwest Strangely, my husband was also taking his medications yesterday evening during his meal. I stopped him because he already had his medications in the afternoon.

@LadyDuck That's one thing I don't know what would happen if I accidentally took both of my blood pressure pills. I assume by blood pressure would drop.

That has definitely happened to me which is ridiculous because I take my meds at the same time every day.

So do I. Clearly something sidetracked me. Probably when you and I were arguing about something. Which is always. So, I am sure that's what happened. lol

I have to remind my husband to take his pills at least 2 or 3 times a day...sometimes more. He has AFIB and several other conditions and MUST take his pills every day; but he's always forgetting. You need to get yourself on a schedule and stick to it! Have a good day.

At least so far I only have the 1 pill to take. The rest of it are all just vitamins and supplements.

Some people use timers to remind them to take pills. It is normal to forget.

I don't think I take enough medication yet to need a timer.

I've done that and thankfully not very often. It does throw everything out of whack. Hope you get back on your right schedule

Vince has two pills that should be taken 12 hours apart - roughly. He now uses an alarm on his watch to remind him. It's okay most of the time but if we go out it's easy to forget.

If that happens to me, I just forget about taking the tablets at all that day, and start again the next day. One day missed normally does not affect things that much.

I think I will be good now. I managed to get the first one down a little after 10am as I planned just to stagger it a bit. I will take my second pill at the normal time tonight. I think I'm good. lol
