You know what I love about eating at a Tex-Mex restaurant on St. Patrick’s Day? Nobody expects anyone to be wearing green! If you wear green here, you dropped guacamole on your shirt! While I eat my greens I’ll give you another song with “live” in the title. Living in the U.S.A. - Steve Miller Band If you’re only familiar with Steve Miller’s “big hit” output, this is going to sound downright weird to you. The original name of this outfit was the “Steve Miller Blues Band.” That, and the fact that they were based in San Francisco during the height of the “psychedelic rock” scene, makes this sound like a completely different band than the guys who did “Take the Money and Run.” If you look at the screen grab, the man second from left in the photo (with the guitar) is none other than Boz Scaggs. This was his second, and final, album with the Steve Miller Band before he went out on his own. His first U.S. album (Boz Scaggs, in 1969) didn’t sound much like the guy who gave us “Lido Shuffle,” either. Oh, those fun 60s. Living in the U.S.A.
