You know what I love about eating at a Tex-Mex restaurant on St. Patrick’s Day? Nobody expects anyone to be wearing green!
If you wear green here, you dropped guacamole on your shirt!
While I eat my greens I’ll give you another song with “live” in the title.
Living in the U.S.A. - Steve Miller Band
If you’re only familiar with Steve Miller’s “big hit” output, this is going to sound downright weird to you. The original name of this outfit was the “Steve Miller Blues Band.” That, and the fact that they were based in San Francisco during the height of the “psychedelic rock” scene, makes this sound like a completely different band than the guys who did “Take the Money and Run.”
If you look at the screen grab, the man second from left in the photo (with the guitar) is none other than Boz Scaggs. This was his second, and final, album with the Steve Miller Band before he went out on his own. His first U.S. album (Boz Scaggs, in 1969) didn’t sound much like the guy who gave us “Lido Shuffle,” either.
Oh, those fun 60s.

“St. Patrick’s Day” = “an excuse to drink!”

One more excuse to drink, that's for sure!
I remember that when I ordered an Irish Coffee I always precised "please no disgusting green syrup on top".

Lots of “weird” stuff on those first albums. Lots of great music, too. “Seasons” is still a favorite.

@porwest — I heard the “demo” version on Apple Music one day and couldn’t get through it. Ugh. Glad the recorded version wasn’t like it.

Thanks for the music trivia...I will keep it in the back of my brain, for a radio call in show or something..

@FourWalls Good job..A radio station in the DC area used to have cash booths where if you answered music trivia questions correctly you could get a turn in the booth, and got to pick up money.. I got 37 dollars one time I think the question I won on was Elvis Presley's mother's name (Gladys) which I knew from reading an article one time. The DJ's we're like "You're good, we would have accepted Mrs. Presley."
Another time I won a dual CD set. I won at the cash booth a few times though.

@snowy22315 — I’d rather have $37 than Dylan tickets.
(I was having asthma problems and gave my tickets to a former coworker.)

It helps. I won tickets to Bob Dylan from a radio station by knowing that Elvis Costello co-wrote “Veronica” with Paul McCartney.

It’s completely different from the “Fly Like an Eagle” era. Well, “Quicksilver Girl” was on Sailor, and it showed a hint of the 70s to come.

Lots of loud rock for the next few days. Remember these when the country starts back up.

"Abracadabra" another Steve Miller Band hit. And that's no "Joker."

Yes, a far cry from their later stuff..

The next one is another crank-up-the-volume tune. I’ll get back to “normal” (for me) in the top ten.
