7/16/24 - Update On My Husband

Didn't hear from him last night. I'm interested in knowing how his physical therapy went after 3 days in bed. He was probably too exhausted to call. He wants to do steps all week. We have stopped saying "2 weeks" because we honestly don't know when he will be home. Very sad.
Tomorrow is the hearing/appeal. I am really nervous; and I can't screw this up.
Thank you for all the support, prayers and thoughts. You have no idea how much they are appreciated.

It seems you will need to be proactive and call him. Sadly, he might be a bit discouraged.

@LindaOHio Why can't you call him though? Does he turn his cell off? If so, he should have it on.

Thanks. I have to call the nurses' station and have them tell him to call me. He just has his cell phone. No phone in the room.

A person can never predict just how those things will go. You could say everything right and get turned down, or say everything wrong and sail through it all. Just do the best you can, it’s all anyone can really do.
When he doesn’t call you, can you call him? I didn’t know if they had certain hours for lights out or no calls. I just know you look forward to hearing from him every evening.
After you have the phone hearing thing, how long do you have to wait until they make a decision?

He just has his cell phone; so I would have to call the nurses' station and have them go tell him to call me. I don't know. Could be a couple of weeks until we hear something.

I guess I thought his cell phone would be close to his bed, not sure why I thought that. I know it means so much to you to get to talk to him every day, was trying to think of a solution!

@LindaOHio Yes, I know. But instead of appealing your butt off to keep him in rehab, why not put that energy to twenty-four nursing? A home health nurse would come daily to help him at home. I just hate to see you going through this. He's celearly not happy, and I don't know what you'll do when the money runs out. You really need to explore your options.

@kaylachan 24 hour nursing has to be more expensive than what we're paying plus he needs physical therapy. He is not capable of coming home right now; but he's getting close. Thank you so much for the suggestion though.
