The Terminix technician came out yesterday. He showed me pictures of the basement where the mice have torn out the insulation. He said that they love basements with lots of cobwebs because they feed on spider eggs. I did not know this. There are places all around the perimeter of the house where they can get in under the siding. These must all be blocked up. He also wants to take a look in the attic. Sticker shock again. It will cost almost $2,000 to take care of entry points and trap for the little monsters. The contract is good for a year though. They will come out as many times as you want them to. I can't STAND mice; so I signed. They are getting in under the garage door as well, which I knew; and hubby always wanted to replace the garage double door and garage door opener; so I have one company coming out on the 21st and one hopefully later in the week to give me an estimate. Sorry I'm so late today. I've been sooooo tired. I honestly don't remember what I had to eat when yesterday. I know it was a Buffalo chicken/cheddar sandwich and a PB&J sandwich at some point. What did you eat yesterday? Photo Credit: Pixabay

Not really a fan, but I know there are a few snakes around at times .Not inside the main level of the house but maybe in the crawlspace or on the perimeter. I usually see about one a summer. I think they take care of mice. I have never seen one in the house, and I hope I never do.

Yeah, you definitely want to take care of those mice! Yuck. I’m glad the contract covers a year though. Yesterday, I had an egg salad sandwich, a pickle, and a pasta salad.

Mice are very destructive, they leave a trail everywhere...you appear to have a major infestation that won't be solved without a professional company. Yes, you did the right thing, signing for the year so they will return if needed. Not to mention that mice can carry diseases and make humans sick. You put up with them a lot longer than I would have...I do NOT like mice. I know you are organizing a lot of needed repairs and such, it can get overwhelming. But when it gets all done, you will be glad you did it all.

I stopped at the bakery on the way to my event and got a fresh cinnamon roll and no lunch, but pizza for dinner. It was very good, and way better than Digiorno's!!

Wait until you see what the garage door is going to cost, if you’re talking ‘sticker shock.’ I had a baked potato with chicken and cheese for lunch, and a salad with smoked chicken for dinner, with apples and watermelon. And a Peppermint Patty!

It sucks when you have to fix one thing and then another and another. And it all adds up to a lot of money. Hope the Terminix guy gets rid of the mice and they don’t return, at least for a while.

I did not know that about spider eggs . . . I better clean out the back porch (I know there is rat activity outside - it's just that way everywhere). We fixed the bottom of our garage a few years ago too . . . there was one spot they were getting in and out of - luckily we were able to get rid the culprits ourselves.

Yesterday I ate boiled Meat and drank a lot of bone soup. Had a binge most of last week and I had no taste for anything else. I hope you find a person to give you a fair quote. I too suffer a lot from mice invasions but I do not keep a lot of food around the house so the worst they can do is work on my pile of books and some good pieces of clothes around.

I worry that they will go into the walls and chew on electrical wiring.
