Home a Little Early

Well, instead of coming home tomorrow morning I came home this afternoon due to a potential “storm of the decade”. My dad could not care less, but my sister was worried about us getting caught in it. Thus, I am home. It was the first day my dad was feeling good again because he went to the doctor while I was gone, and he tested positive for Covid. He had worn a mask on the way down there, and wouldn’t let anyone get near him. I tested myself anyway, and it was negative. He sounded terrible Friday, but apparently this morning he woke up feeling really well. He said it was absolutely nothing like when he got it five years ago. Five years ago he felt like he was dying. This time was nothing like that, thank goodness.
I was bummed about coming home, and some forecasters think the doom and gloom weather report is being exaggerated, but you don’t play around with tornadoes. I’ll miss these faces in the picture though (Amyra & Annelyn).

Oh my! I am sorry your visit was cut short, and I truly hope the storm does not hit anywhere. I imagine Sadie was very glad to see you! Hopefully you can go back over the summer and spend more time with the kids. I am glad to hear your Dad doesn’t have a bad case of Covid. I hope no one else gets sick!!
Take good care and be safe, Amber!

At least you have someone you can trust to leave her with when you go somewhere. I know that means a lot.

Was the weather report calling for devastation supposed to hit around your sister's house? If it is supposed to hit around your house, I would have stayed with your sister and her family a few more days... Unless she just didn't want you to stay any longer.
I'm glad you're home and hope everything goes well there.
I'm glad your dad feels better than he did when he had Covid before but hope he keeps using his mask out in public.

@DaddyEvil Sounds like “real” government business, huh. I don’t usually go to my dad’s, but when I heard my stepmom say”Tell her to get over here”, I moved my rear end a quick 20 minutes away to their house. Being in the 3rd floor here, it’s just not safe.

@AmbiePam I'm always glad we live in a small house. I would hate being any higher than that if a tornado did strike our city.

Aww, well they are just a text or phone call away. Hopefully, they will invite you again before too long. Sis used to invite me along every so often when the boys were young but now I don't see any of them much.

Even if it is not the "storm of the decade" it is nice not to be traveling in heavy wind and rain. I am glad you are safe and that your dad did not have a hard case of Covid. Like everything else, we begin to build immunities, until it mutates again.

Never fool around when a tornado warning is issued in your area since storms are dangerous.
