Anybody Want a Cookie?

I could put a small table beside the right door and put a package of cookies on the table... Maybe then you could find the door you need to come visit me.

@DaddyEvil There was a new grocery store that opened yesterday. I didn't know it hadn't opened already, so thought I would stop in for something that they carry. I waited out front as it was a few minutes before 8am, and that is apparently when they open. There were a couple of staff who came along and couldn't get in. We chatted a bit and they told me the store was opening that day. I was actually THE very first customer through the doors, that staff member was waiting for me, along with some others, and he introduced me to the owner. I congratulated her as it looked like a beautiful store. At the check outs the cashier gave me a reusable grocery bag partially filled with an assortment of goodies and told me that was a token of appreciation for being one of the first few shoppers. It had a package of President's Choice decadent chocolate chip cookies, yummy, a large bottle of lemon flavoured sparkling water, a can of Red Bull, a canister of potato chips and a coupon for $5 off any purchase of $50 or more, plus the reusable bag. So, we are good for cookies. I gave the drinks to my son, his wife will drink the sparkling water and he said that he could choke down a Red Bull since it was free.

@Juliaacv Very nice! You were lucky to be their first customer! Pretty would have taken and kept all the things in the bag. I don't like reusable bags. I always forget to bring them back. We still get free single-use bags here.

Thanks... I've eaten three of them so far and Pretty has eaten four of them now. There are 10 in the pack. I'm sure she'll eat the rest when she wakes up this afternoon.

And the cookies are big with lots of chocolate chips. You know you're always welcome to come here and visit and help me eat these.

I forget to buy the ingredients to bake cookies anymore so it's easier to just buy them now.

@JudyEv I've mostly stopped baking but will bake meat and potatoes once in a great while. Fresh bread used to be something I'd bake every few days but I haven't made any fresh bread in several years now.

@DaddyEvil Some things just aren't worth the effort. If something has more than 5 or 6 ingredients, then I don't really want to be bothered with it.

I don't like them hard, either. I want them soft and chewy. That's what these are...

@lovebuglena I prefer them room temp... I microwaved one cookie last year and burned my finger when the chocolate chips melted and I put a finger right through one. Not fun!

@DaddyEvil Yum! Do you prefer them warmed up or room temp?

@DaddyEvil That is about the only way I drink it: cookies, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cereal, which is not very often at all.

@kareng Drinking milk will make me throw up... If I want cereal, I used Almond milk for it.

They actually are good. We just don't buy them very often because they're fattening. That's why Pretty didn't want to buy them for me. *shrug*

I ate four of them. My daughter ate the rest. I went to get one last night from the second container and she'd eaten the whole thing. I hope you and your family are doing okay. I haven't seen you post for a few days... or maybe I just missed seeing discussions you've posted?

@Traceyjayne It's always best to check cookies often just to make sure they're still good... The problems start when you have a kid (of any age) that also likes cookies or anything else you buy for your personal consumption. I'm sorry you're having so many problems right now. You're lucky your mom is able to help you that much. It isn't fun getting older. I hope your arm is getting better.

@DaddyEvil Hope you enjoyed the cookies....thats all that matters. i didn't think about them til I read your post ....since then I looked in the cupboard and found some chocolate chip ones ....I tried a few to make sure they hadn't gone off ....I will check a few more later today ! I am staying with my Mom during the week and go home to be with my partner at the weekends. My partner works away Monday to Friday and as I can't do anything because of my arm I can't really stay on my own. My Mom was 87 a few days ago and I feel she needs a break at the weekend after dealing with me all week......getting me up ,washed and dressed tires her out. I leave the laptop at my Moms and can't be doing with posting stuff on my phone as the print is too tiddly on a whole post ....I'm not getting any younger ...ha ha ...and so am protecting my eyes. We haven't got a computer at our house and the laptop i use is my work one really ....we are allowed to bring it home and use it for personal stuff and , although I don't very often bring it home , i did for the Easter holiday , then I had my fall so haven't been able to take it back. Lucky really as at least I can still post with the use of one arm.

Yes you could... You could make a trip here and visit me... I'll always share my cookies with you.

They really are good. Usually store bought aren't as good as home made but I've stopped making cookies and Pretty never has made any.

@snowy22315 I did just lose 20 lbs but I still need to lose more... There's no reason I can't celebrate with a couple of cookies, though.

I've don't bake very often anymore. Sometimes I'll still bake meat and potatoes but not sweets. I don't want sweets around very often. I'm trying to lose weight, not gain it.

How have you been? Pretty has eaten more of them than I have.

As a kid, I wanted cookies all the time but mom didn't make them very often. She did make desserts almost every day for after supper, mostly pies or a cake.

I used to make Snickerdoodle cookies and take them to Pretty's school classes.

@DaddyEvil Both of my daughters love Snickerdoodles, they are their favorite cookie.

@MarieCoyle I couldn't keep Pretty out of them when she was little. I don't know that she has a favorite cookie.
