While I was checking the cameras I spotted this cutie in the pasture. That was the closest I could get while taking pictures. This tells me I will start seeing the fawns with mommy before long. I got it back out of the pasture before George horse could scare it into the fence. I found where it is getting in. I will add fence to that area soon. The fence is raised up in the corner of the pasture enough for the baby to walk under. Hopefully it stays out now that it seen me and that crazy horse.
Grocery shopping went smoothly. I was home a little bit after 12. That's one thing I love about not having to go to Marion or Kenton.
I got the future duck shed cleaned out some this afternoon. I also have a trap set near my pool planters. A ground hog has been sampling some of my flowers and I don't want to share. Usually I don't try to kill them but that's not allowed.
Hope you had a good day.

Like @vandana7 I could not see it at first. She looks so small in there. I hope she is able to find mom soon.

That's a beautiful baby! I'm surprised it didn't stay in hiding if it's mom isn't around!
I'm sure George would have just loved on the baby some before sending it back out of his pasture to its mom.
Aren't groundhogs fun?

It's old enough to start nibbling some. And like all babies they are very nosey.
He tried to. I kept him to the side so it could run the fence line back to the corner.
They are NOT!!!!!

@wolfgirl569 Fawns nibble right off the bat. They just don't eat much until they get a little older.
You're so mean to George! George is probably friends with the fawn's mom.

@DaddyEvil You know what I was referring to
But he was scaring the little one. I didn't want it getting in the fence from fear

@wolfgirl569 Same here. Sometime this summer the grass will stop growing and I won't have to worry about whether I will need to hire Buddy again.

I love to see the little deer. So cute.
We have a lot of ground hogs close by, they seem to love fields of grass and often you see them pop up and check things out. None are anywhere close to my home or on my street, but I don't have to go far to see one. Many people who live rurally here have to fight ground squirrels. They burrow and will dig tunnels around your home's foundation, and if you get them it's a constant fight to get rid of them. I am happy not to have them, either.

They are
I have caught a few of those in the rat traps since losing the barn cats. I prefer those to rats at least. This groundhog lives right at the back of what we mow.

It wouldn't let me any closer. Glad you found it.
They can be cute. Until they are eating my plants. They are about the size of raccoons if that helps

The blending helps protect them at that age. I was hoping to get closer but it took off
