The landlady's secretary showed up, asked if we had any problems we needed taken care of, looked around the living room while standing just inside the door, asked Pretty to sign saying the secretary had been here, thanked us and left. Done for another year!

Does your landlady do all the maintenance of your house? You are lucky enough. In India we have to run after the landlord for any kind of maintenance which they rarely do. Thank God I live in my own house.

@aninditasen It's part of the law here. Property owners can get in a lot of trouble if they don't keep the rental properties in good shape.

@DaddyEvil I had lived in a room when I was a college student. I lwould live in a room near my college.My landlord was an old gentleman, a retired armyman. He was also very polite and co operating

She probably didn’t want to be there anymore than you wanted her there. Seriously, if you’re not a “troublesome” tenant, that’s usually how long something will take. They know who the good people are!
