On the Road With Friends!

Well, howdy! I’m in eastern Illinois tonight. I’m meeting a myLotter for lunch tomorrow before heading off to Kickapoo Rail Trail, then to Lafayette, Indiana for a couple of days of history. Then it’s on to Fort Wayne to see my golfing buddies.
I stopped by the old course in Columbus, Indiana on the way. It was heartbreaking. I have a lot of trophies at home with that course’s name on it. I loved that thing. Unfortunately, the owners are now in their 80s and failing health, and they couldn’t find a buyer.

Well, Columbus is a pretty small town (comparatively speaking), and they were crushed by a flood on the Driftwood River many years ago.

I have some family in Columbus. It’s lovely country there, and of course Brown County is an old favorite of mine to visit, too. Dad lived in Indianapolis, but he loved Brown County.

It’s very sad. At one point, there were over 1,000 Putt Putt courses in the world. Now there are 20 left.

I know what you mean. There have been museums for very famous musicians that have closed down, so how much of a chance do small museums about sheep farmers have? I love to go to the small museums for that very reason.

@FourWalls One small town has a camera museum. I don't know that we'll get there before the owner passes on. He's not young by a long way.
