Different Pharmacy...

Pretty switched all my prescriptions to a mom and pop pharmacy here. They deliver, for free! (Walmart won't deliver here. Our city is "too small" to make delivery worth their while. ) They just delivered my meds that I couldn't get to the Walmart Pharmacy to pick up this month... I've been out of some of them for two weeks and have been feeling the difference. (I have two meds that have to be refrigerated and I was out of both of them.) This small local pharmacy just made my day!

I am so glad you found a pharmacy that delivers. Now you can take your medicines again.

@DaddyEvil Often tiny places are better than those large pharmacy. I have always used a small pharmacy, they delivered.

@LadyDuck I'm not happy with the small pharmacy, either, right now... I went to the doctor yesterday because I'm in pain. They got the prescription from my doctor visit yesterday but still haven't delivered the pain meds or the eye meds after confirming they were covered by my insurance.

Thank you. I'm glad Pretty checked with the other pharmacy... I hadn't even considered them before. They're just a tiny place that mom used way back before Walmart ever came to our city.

Ours is a small town and we don't have delivery service. However I and my family members are fit and we don't need meds.

I understand... However, I'm 61 and have several disabilities. I take 13 prescriptions every day. Some of them are for my heart. I NEED those.

@Shivram59 That's nice! Both my parents needed meds by the time they were my age, too. Most of my siblings were taking heart meds by the time they were my age.

@DaddyEvil I understand. You need those meds. My father is 75 and mother 72. Fortunately they both have no problems.

While my Walmart is close enough to deliver my medication, I don’t trust them to do it. Yay for the mom and pop pharmacy that came through for you!

@DaddyEvil Walmart is two miles away from you and they won’t deliver a medication for your heart…that’s morally criminal. Makes me angry.

Walmart is only two miles away from us but even calling Home Office didn't help. They said each Walmart chooses if they want to deliver groceries and meds and this one doesn't want to. Thanks. I'm glad! One of the meds I've been out of is for my heart!

@AmbiePam It's a business decision... I don't bring them enough profit for me to be economically viable on their bottom line. I think that's how the person at Corporate Headquarters said it, at least. Don't quote me, please.

@celticeagle Yes, one pharmacy will bring them to us but the other pharmacy want us to go to them to get them. They get them from a refrigerated truck that comes once a month to their two stores.

I am really happy to hear this. What a relief for you. Tell Pretty she is a hero. But you still aren't driving until the car is legal, lol. Great day for you. I hope your meds give you some relief.

@RasmaSandra Thanks... When I lost my job, I really worried about how I was going to keep paying for the meds I need. Thankfully, the same year I lost my job, voters in our state voted Medicaid in for those who didn't have income. (Then the state Governor said he wasn't funding it and publicly said "Let's see what the poor do when there's no money to pay for their medical bills and meds." And got sued and a Federal judge ordered him to "find" the money to pay for Medicaid in our state.) If things get that bad for you, PLEASE tell me. We'll make room for you and any furry roommates you have to live with us...

We don't have any of that here. The town is too small to support them. We COULD call one of them in Springfield but they won't deliver more than 50 miles away...

I agree... They're a family owned place that has been here since I was a little boy, at least. I know my mom used them long before Walmart was ever built here. I just never thought about them.

Great news that you have found a pharmacy that can get all your meds and deliver for free ….result I would say. Probably not good that you have been out of some meds for a while. Please take care, and don’t put your health at risk.

Walmart is still the only grocery store around here so we buy from them anyway. It was just easier to pick up our meds when we went shopping. When I can't see, we can't get meds or groceries.

The first pharmacy (Walmart) was two miles away and you have to walk on the highway to get there if you can't drive. The second pharmacy is downtown but still two miles away but you can walk on sidewalks to get there if you can't drive. I don't want to walk the two miles there and back again if I can't see.

@DaddyEvil Why didn't you have them for 2 weeks. That shouldn't happen. Was it because you couldn't drive?
