Road Trip Time

I am on vacay (week #2) this week from work.
My son and his wife are also on vacay this week. That means that my husband is on vacay.
The kids are taking the twins to Montreal on their road trip after they finish gymnastics tomorrow afternoon. They will do their driving over 2 days, one of which will be in the evening, the twins will sleep.
We are leaving tomorrow morning also for a road trip.
We are not going as far, but we are going someplace that we both really love in our province. Our destination is along Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes.
I picked up some fresh things this morning so that I can pack a nice picnic lunch for tomorrow. It is so refreshing to enjoy a picnic along the way. You can clear your head, stretch your back and legs and feel the sunshine on your face.

Yes, Kharla used to live on Lake Huron on the US side.
I believe that I have everything prepared.
When Ron comes home he will be able to see the things that I have out for the picnic, the things that we will munch on and do not need to be in the cooler, and the piles of clothing that I have arranged.

I don't see the pic, maybe mylot went down when you were posting. Gotta love a good roadtrip.It will be very cool. You might even need to bring a heavy jacket with you just in case. I know one night even here it will be 51.

@snowy22315 They have done a really impressive upgrade to the walkway along the shoreline of the lake, and I will need to dress warmly for that. But for the most part tomorrow, we will be in the car and out into buildings only, other than our picnic lunch.

A stop off is so nice on road trips. My ex and I used to take some of those and they are so nice. I miss seeing new places. But, I do have some very nice memories. I hope you enjoy your trip. Stay safe.

@Juliaacv .........This sounds extraordinary. Yes, the stories those places could tell. I was just watching a paranormal doc the other night about just such a place. Jigsaw puzzles? My daughter would love that.

These days I decided to do the same thing: I traveled to a short destination but spent a different day. I also brought picnic things.I really thought that I was giving little time to my life and my children to be able to go on vacation. I have spent years without being able to enjoy another environment.I'm so glad because I can feel in this post that everything you say is marked with enthusiasm.I hope you have a good time

We have no plans other than the day tomorrow and we both want to enjoy some relaxation together.
The weather is cool, but we've packed for that.

They are young and there is much to see both for them as well as for the girls, which is why they are going east.
We are not young 
any only want to relax and enjoy the area we are visiting and each other.
And......eat some good fish-this area is known for fresh fish being served in restaurants.

Today is our son's 8th wedding anniversary, they will be home today but leave for their trip to Montreal tomorrow.
We will be sitting near that bench when we have our little picnic lunch tomorrow. I have it all ready, just need to pack it in the cooler in the morning.
Its a little old fashioned, but we love a picnic lunch together.

I always loved the Great Lakes, and Lake Huron is beautiful. Some of my father's family lived on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and I loved it there as well. Have a really good time, Julia!!
