Update on “I Need Some Help”

I just want to thank again everyone who encouraged me to get help after I refused to get in an ambulance at my doctor’s office last week , and tried to tough it out again (some of you especially). I thought for sure it was something that would pass. But going to the ER was definitely best. Honestly, I can’t believe I had to hang on to the wall to walk, had shortness of breath, and still waited to go to the ER. I’m grateful it was low magnesium. But when I didn’t feel better yesterday, I went back, and they gave me another IV of helpful medication.
After feeling SO much better last night I feel pretty tired this morning, but I think that is just recovering from being so weak. I’m walking around just fine, and feel a lot better than I did overall. I’m just going to take it easy today, call my doctor to let him in on it (he IS working today), and take my magnesium supplements I bought. And you know what? If I’m not even better tomorrow, and my doctor says go to the ER, I’ll listen. After all, he was right the first time.
Thank you all for the prayers!

Good grief Amber. You certainly know how to scare the "you know what" out of me. I haven't been here the last few days so I totally missed your posts. Thank goodness you went to the ER and I'm glad that you're feeling better. I hope you learned a lesson about not listening (yup that's the mom in me). But, I'm sending you lots of hugs and know that you are loved.
Please take care of yourself

@AmbiePam I'm so sorry you still aren't feeling well. Wish I lived closer and could help you. Hope he has an answer for you and you don't have to go to the ER but happy that you will if he suggests it.

I'm delighted to know you are better. Magnesium plays a huge part in health. That's what my husband was low on- he had diabetes at the time. Please take some naps, drink plenty of something and know that I am overjoyed that you got help.

I'm glad you listened and were able to get help. Its not easy and I know how high an ambulance bill can be as just paid one.

My best friend's mother fell a few weeks ago. She went to the hospital and she found out she had a UTI and low blood pressure. Her blood pressure came back up and she did get to go home. But she got another UTI. My best friend has been worried about her mother.

Poor lady. My stepmom got a UTI, and didn’t know it until she went to the ER about sudden double vision. UTIs really can have the weirdest, scariest symptoms. People just don’t realize that, but it’s true. I had no typical symptoms at all when I had mine.
Honestly, I have a feeling I’m going back to the ER. My doctor wants me to come back in tomorrow since I’m not better.

I am very thankful it was not a virus. Between the UTI and the magnesium deficiency you will likely feel weak for a while. I am glad you are getting all of it taken care of. Rest up, and then enjoy that trip.
