I have never been so surprised and saddened by a headline on the News. I live in Georgia and everyone here has heard of the AJC The Atlanta Constitution Newspaper. It has been around for over a hundred years. Well guess what? The headline news said that December 31, 2025 will be the last day the printed paper will be out. From then on, it will all be digital! My elderly parents have taken a subscription to the AJC for decades. My Dad is 88 years old and has never had an interest in Computers and the Internet. He doesn't even know how to get online. My Dad loves his daily paper. What is he going to do now? My Mom has already sent them an email about how mad she is. I'm sure there are other people who feel the same way. Not everyone is into technology and the Internet, especially elderly people like my Dad.

I'm sorry that's happening there. I haven't seen in-print newspapers in a decade, at least. Everything is online now and they still charge a subscription fee for the website.

@LeaPea2417 I hope your dad gets used to using an iPad or tablet instead of an actual newspaper quickly.

Is there any other newspaper they can consider subscribing to?

@LeaPea2417 I don't know what kind of newspaper they would want or had but I found this online Yes, the Toccoa Record can be delivered to your home. The newspaper offers subscription services that allow readers to receive physical copies directly at their residence. To set up delivery, visit the Toccoa Record's official website or contact their customer service for subscription options and pricing details.

I like reading the newspaper that is delivered to my driveway once a week for free. I'm lucky to get it.

What a sad sign of the times that we are living in to see the printed newspaper going away. I live in the DC area and it saddens me to see so many people dropping their subscription to the printed Washington Post in favor of digital.

For some time, I never gave out my mobile number as I wasn't good at using it and wasn't really interested but more and more you can't get anywhere without a mobile number. I'm sorry for your parents. This will really impact on them.

I fear this is the way that all newspapers are going. I have a temporary digital subscription for $1 per month. After that I will cancel. If your Dad doesn't want to learn the computer, I don't know what the solution is.

I guess he will just have to listen to the news on the radio or TV.

Yes, when this happens it really does upset older people especially since they are the least likely to stay up to date on technology. Is there still a paper that he can subscribe to, even if it isn’t his regular one? I know a person who has computers, and navigates them just fine, but will buy a newspaper subscription anyway to try to keep the printed version in business.

I hope your dad will get some interest in the computer so he can continue to read the paper. The paper probably can't afford to continue producing the paper form if people are all online. Or most are anyway. Sad affair.

It is so sad to see business disappear. More and more daily papers are now only available online.

I agree. Technology does not always provide a positive outcome. Especially for those who have become accustomed to a certain way of doing things. So many things over time have become obsolete due to technology. And for the elderly it is a tall order to adapt to these changes. I would suspect the newspaper found it more cost effective to go digital. In this case, sadly, a time of changing times...

Every broadsheet in the Philippines is going digital too but I think they still keep their paper but the production is not as much as it used to be before the advent of the internet.
