What If You Won?

The PowerBall jackpot is up to an amazing $1.3 billion; and by the time the drawing rolls around, it may even be higher. Cousin #2 and I are splitting 5 tickets.
Are you playing? What would you do with the money if you won?
First I would have a new deck installed; then I would have some repairs done in the two bathrooms along with some updates. Then the fun would begin. I would donate huge amounts to St. Jude Children's Hospital, the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), our local Humane Society, our local Dog Shelter, our local library, the Council on Aging (they provide Meals on Wheels), the Salvation Army...that's just for a start. There are a lot of other charities to consider.
A MyLotter said that she would help out fellow members that need financial assistance. That's a very good idea; and I would consider that as well.
So...what would you do?

That's a huge money to win. Sending my wishes..I really want you to win as you have so many donations for good cause on your list.
If I ever won such huge amount, I would go for few remodeling around the house, have one good family vacation for a week somewhere scenic in my country, invest some money in my business that is a social entrepreneurship for special needs adults and youths. And I would donate some part of the blind school where I do a lot each year for their fund raising. They need some sports and music equipments.

@LindaOHio Thank you..I don't have that kind of money. But still I support these causes every year in the best possible way I can with whatever little I have.

Oh, Linda, it would be such fun. You know I had said I’d help out Mylotters. Some that need medical help, one that wants to go back to Latvia, and some that just need some help around the house.
I’d help my friend who runs an animal rescue, tithe to my church, get better medical help for myself, find a small home with two bedrooms that isn’t ghetto. I’d then flood the food banks with fresh food, not the expired yogurt and soup, and moldy bread some people are given (my own experience). I’d finally be off disability! I’d then find people who don’t qualify for government help, but can’t quite pay their bills on their own.
It would be so enjoyable. But I’m not buying any tickets.

Yes, I would like to see her go back to Latvia. And there are several others I can think of that need help.

I just now read that no one won the Powerball Wednesday night. So as of this writing, it's 1.7 billion dollars. Just go buy more tickets, I guess. The only thing is, the higher it goes, the less likely there is a chance of winning, but hey...there's still a chance.
It is said if you are a serious lottery person, you will buy tickets for the lower times, as your chances of winning are much higher.

I just keep getting tickets for the Ohio Classic Lotto. It's not a big payoff; but I've been playing the same numbers since 1989.

I do not play, so I cannot win. Someone I used to work with who also lives in Florence, Ks. said she would buy all the abandoned houses that are falling down and have them removed.

If it is still up that high on Friday I will get a ticket. If I won, I would immediately hire a money manager and pay the taxes on it. (I would get it in cash.) I would then buy us a house and get us out of Housing. I would also buy new furniture, and we would have one rip snorting good Christmas. Then I would start figuring out monthly allowances, CD investments, etc. And give money to the Vet place here and several other places I want to help. Then we would travel.
It sure would be nice. Good luck!

Pay off the house and get some repairs done. Buy a new truck. Put some back for the kids and Adeline. I could afford a full time maid then to

I have considered a few things. It's fun to dream, right, and even do the math a little bit. So, first off, I'd take the cash option at $589 million. By my rough estimation, after taxes I'd take home about $353.4 million. So, I'd take $10 million off the top and set it aside and then invest the remaining $343.4 million, giving me a conservative annual payday from dividends around $20.6 million.
Of the first $10 million I figure my wife and I would go house shopping and spend around $1.2 million to $1.5 million for a nice house with an inground swimming pool and lots of garage space. I'd get a new F-250 King Ranch Ford diesel truck and let my wife pick out whatever car she wants.
Then we'd shop for a condo in Florida, probably near Orlando somewhere and Daytona Beach.
Beyond that, because there'd be so much money left and oodles still coming in each year, we'd do whatever we wanted without any question. lol

An inground pool? I'd hire a pool boy. No more green water.

@LindaOHio Oh, I'd definitely hire someone to manage the pool for sure. Can I pick a hot blonde who slowly brushes the bottom in a bikini?

Those sound like good things to do with the money. You already know what I'd do, which is not helpful to others (but I've never been known to do that anyway) Just would be nice to finally have some money....

@LindaOHio Well that is very sweet of you, nobody has ever wanted to help me! Though I am sure there are many who would deserve it more

Similar to you honestly. Deck yes, garage, charities definitely I would also take trips around the world. Maybe I would be like loo and travel to over 100 countries. Of course I would invest some as well. Buy a summer home, invest some etc. The possibilities are really endless.

That amount of money boggles my mind but I would probably move to a house with only one floor. No more stairs
Of course I would help my family and friends and donate to charity. I do love St Jude too.
All your plans sound really good. I hope you win Linda
