Ok, first off, if you're bug squeamish then you might want to move on. Living in the desert has it's peculiarities and one of them are the types of insects or bugs we get but this kinda bug I ain't seen before. So, does anyone here know what this kritter is?

It is an odd looking bug, nothing I have seen before. It looks like it has wings, but it doesn't seem to want to fly. I wonder if anyone else will have a suggestion as to what it is.

It does have wings but it wasn't able to fly, I felt sorry for it but I've learned not to interfere with nature

I have also seen the video and I think I found. It could be (not sure) of the family of Weevils. I also took a screenshot.

@rebelann - You are so kind, thank you. It's often hard to have to deal with people who suffer of senile dementia.

Not the exact name, no. I hope you figure it out. In one pic it looks like a grasshopper - type and in another he looks like a beetle-type. Weird.

@rebelann ......With the weird weather all over the country he may have gotten pushed around and went the wrong direction.

That's a really good point, it's been a windy year for us here and those winds are coming more from the northeast rather than the southwest as in previous years

Thanks anyway. I'm wondering if either the winds blew it in or a bird left it here after trying to eat the poor thing.

I've never seen a cicada, deserts are usually too hot and dry for those kinds of bugs

It is kind of an ugly bug, but it is good to let him just do his thing.

Yes, very funny. It didn't try to attack me so maybe it just needed a place to hide or something
