Hey, how did this not end up in the top ten? I don’t know, but at least it made the list. “The list” this month is for @rebelann who joked about rocking too hard to some of the songs in my countdowns. Next month, I get my revenge. Meanwhile, today, mellow out! Time Passages - Al Stewart Al Stewart just turned 80 on September 5, so you bet I’ll celebrate his birthday with a song! You may only know two songs by him (this one and “Year of the Cat”), but I found him well worth investigating. I mean, anyone who writes a ten-minute song based on the writings of Nostradamus is okay with me! This album, in addition to the “hits” (this one and “Song on the Radio”), had songs about Sir Thomas More (“A Man for All Seasons”) and the French Revolution (“The Palace of Versailles”). You know, typical rock and roll subject matter. I love the sax, I love Stewart’s soft spoken Scottish accent, and I love pretty much everything on this album.
