Well, the flights were canceled, and we couldn’t get any other flights (boy did my sister and BIL try). So we thought, okay, there is a cruise out of Galveston, we’ll pivot and go to Mexico and Honduras. At least that’s something. But no, that fell though too. We’re headed home tomorrow. Of course, tears were shed.

@AmbiePam I just looked up the news for flights from Texas to Boston and they're saying a widespread communications blackout/radar glitches have affected both areas and are advising people to check with their airlines and see what alternatives are available in the areas. And it appears there are few if any choices in the matter.

My sister and I bawled away from the kids because the little kids were both crying too. I feel terrible for my sister. She has dreamed of going to Prince Edward Island, and she so wanted a family vacation.

I'm so sorry, what a disappointment. It seems communications systems had a major failure. Nothing you could do about that but such a shame, I hope you had travel insurance! At least you got a little bit of time together with family I guess.
