They say we’re done with 90-degree temperatures for the year…just in time for the first day of autumn! Meanwhile, “down under,” it’s the first day of spring! While we do a little slower dancing number for @rebelann we’ll also salute our Aussie buddy @JudyEv with this one. Here’s today’s song.
#9: Reminiscing - Little River Band
Why Judy? In case you didn’t know, Little River Band is an Australian band.
Happy first day of spring, y’all.
I’ve mentioned this song frequently, usually in reference to the line about Glenn Miller (“that’s the way it began, we were hand in hand, Glenn Miller’s band was better than before”). That’s not the only good thing about this song, though. It’s a happy tune about love never ending.
I thought about “reminiscing” about this song when it was out in 1978 and the album was a big seller. Nowadays, Little River Band is relegated to one or two songs on the radio.
As long as this song is one of them!
Reminiscing
Written by Graeham Goble
Recorded by Little River Band
From Sleeper Catcher, 1978

I should play for the Cubs. They’re batting .000 since they clinched a playoff spot.

@MarieCoyle — they need to wake the heck up, although the Reds fan in me appreciates them letting the Reds get back into the wild card.

They had a pretty good string of hits in the late 70s then quickly disappeared when music styles changed.

I’ve never heard this before or even heard of the band. Easy listening and definitely one I could sway to. And maybe even fro?

@Orson_Kart -- being on one's rocker is grossly overrated in my opinion.

They had a number of good hits, both ballads (“Cool Change”) and rockers (“Help Is on Its Way”). I think they deserve more than to be afterthoughts of the 70s.
