Mystery myLotters

Many of us here remain a bit of a mystery. Perhaps, in some ways, that adds a level of intrigue? And of course, some of it is because even though we have a bit of an online presence, we still want to cling onto some sense of privacy. I can understand that. I can't get away with it, necessarily, since although I am not famous or a celebrity or anything like that, I do have a very public "profile," since I am a blogger with a large audience, and I have my music etc. There are many myLotters who I know what they look like. But for many more, that's a complete mystery, and so you are left to your imagination when it comes to at least that aspect. If you've never shared a picture of you here, what's your reason? Privacy? Saving embarrassment? Some other reason? Are you ever curious what a certain myLotter looks like?

I shared some of my photos of the past. My husband is very private and not very happy if I share recent photo. I have one that is 5 years old, I used a filter. Look if this can satisfy your curiosity.

I have to say, I have never seen a picture of you until now. Your cartoon image never quite painted the picture. Privacy is still an important thing, especially nowadays when it is so much harder to achieve. Thanks for posting it. I have a completely new image of you now in my head.

Anna, I remember you sharing a photo or two of yourself with me, because I remember commenting on how beautiful you are! And I'm sure you are just as beautiful now as you have always been!

I speak only for myself, I don't trust the internet so I prefer to let Roscoe & Tuffy show their true faces.

I don't trust the internet either, which is why I have no problem posting photos of myself. I'm hoping someone steals my identity and makes me rich somehow! lol

I do not know if i have shared my face here in one of their few photos l have uploaded here. But my reason is always privacy amongst other reasons. I think that I still believe that i should protect my privacy still in this time and moment that any information can easily be taken and stolen in this digital age.

I have only ever known you as a horse. If I ever saw a picture of the real you...it would probably ruin the whole horse thing.

I am very curious to know what some myLotters look like, especially after I've had the chance to get to know them here over time. I don't have any issue sharing pictures of myself.

@porwest Each person has their own comfort level of how much of their personal lives (including photos) that they will share online. I respect that.

Me either. I am an open book. It is what it is. lol. But I do like to put a face to a name or personality. Although I get why some might want to keep their identity a secret.

I believe l shared a picture awhile back. The picture l use here is a sketch l did of myself in 2014. It could be updated, but the choice of course is mine to update or let it remain as it is.

I have always had an idea of you based on the sketch. Not sure I ever saw an actual picture. It doesn't seem to me that you are "hiding" anything. lol. We do all get a bit curious, though. I think that's just human nature, and we know so much about each other from our posts and interactions, sometimes you just want to put a face to a name and so on and so forth.

I'm just afraid of being stalked by people I don't know in cyberspace. Only a few people have ever seen my real face.

That is understandable. Many people are and probably for good reason. Privacy is a VERY difficult thing to maintain these days.

I decided that it was enough of pictures of me and at my age the old bat in the attic no longer wants to share her face, If I sometimes do post a photo I explain that it was taken years ago, The avatar I have on WP is also ancient but I like the photo and I keep it,

I can definitely understand why many people wish to maintain some level of privacy, especially considering nowadays it's really hard to be private.

I have shown pix from my high school days and my marriage in 1970. I am no longer photogenic; so I prefer to keep my present persona private. Oh, I did show pix from about 30 years ago.

It's still nice to put a face to a name or a persona. But I fully understand why some people are opposed to it. No harm, no foul. I just use my imagination, and so there you are, a bald, eyeglass wearing smiley face with two arms and two legs—and you are completely yellow. lol

And I don't want share pictures of mine nothing like I don't trust my friends here. But due to privacy concerns.I have to feel safe for too longer to be here.

I suppose for me it comes down to liking to put a face to a name or a persona. But I understand why many people want to be as private as they possibly can be, especially considering it is harder than ever to be private.

I never understood why people post pics of animals or nature or some other thing as their profile picture. I’d at least do an avatar of my face lol but I always post a pic of myself usually. Currently on FB I have a pic of my shadow.

I would like to see how those who I interact with look like. At times I wonder about the gender too as it is not clear from the username. And some do not reveal where they are from,

Everybody thinks as such...It's funny that though our photos can be retrieved from anywhere, (courtesy Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, TikTok, etc), it's we users who do not know who we (MyLottans) are. People like us live in the illusion that our identities are kept private, but we are exposed elsewhere. Why, our KYC documents reveal not only our faces but our very details that constitute our identities! So if people love to keep themselves hidden from you (read everyone here), it's because, that temporary anonymity gives a sense of safety. Who knows who's prying to prey ? But it'd be interesting to sketch someone in our imagination. Do you know that this can veritably turn into a game?
