Cousin #2 came over yesterday and did her usual. I am ordering more and more "healthy" items. Boy, are they expensive. 12 pieces of cheese were over $6. Still no word from cousin #3.
Today the washer people are coming over.
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Cheesy chicken rice bake
No Meals on Wheels due to the holiday.
Dessert/Snacks - Unsalted nuts, 70% dark chocolate
Dinner - Turkey/vegan cheese sandwich, veggie straws, blueberries
What did you eat yesterday?

Yes. I must completely change my diet if I want to stay off dialysis.

#3 is trying to juggle too many things. Maybe someone at your local department of aging could find someone who would come and do things for you.

I have a list from the Council on Aging. Most agencies require 12 hours per week. That equates to about $1,000 per month. Too much.

I get 2 pounds of shredded cheddar for $7 but most everything else except my dairy is frozen stuff. I heated up my casserole and enjoyed more ding dongs,

I am enjoying my unsalted nuts; but I eat too many of them. They're so good.

I hate to ask but can cousin #2 make you some healthy meals that you can just reheat?

The usual, interrupted by a great, short visit with LooeyVille and Hubby, for lunch.
Potatoes with cheese for dinner. Yogurt, fiber, peach applesauce!

Yes it's very difficult unless I was able to cook my own food.

Braised pork steaks with buttered peas and macaroni and cheese on the side. Good eats as per the usual. Pork steaks have me a bit fit to be tied because after this dish, I am out of them, and Walmart raised their price from $1.94 per pound (which held for a very long time) to $2.24 per pound. I'm not paying that. At least for now. So, now I have to wait for some to go on sale. Schnuck's usually has them around $1.69 per pound when they do, so we'll see if one comes up.
They have whole pork loin on sale at Schnuck's starting Wednesday for $1.49 a pound and I will get some of that. But it's much leaner and you have to be so careful when you cook it not to dry it out.
It is what it is.

I know the idea of cousin #3 coming over is to help you sort and toss or whatever, but at the rate she moves it’s going to take her 100 years!!

I know she's busy; but she should come when she tells me she's going to.
