Bank error reported (now fixed)

October 21, 2025 5:21am CST
And while I have your attention, myLot was inaccessible yesterday (Monday) due to problems AWS (Amazon Web Services) experienced which left many sites unable to connect. As soon as someone higher up the foodchain from me gets a chance to fix the bank everything here should be back to normal.

I wonder if the bank is down, does that also mean it's not calculating earnings WHILE it's down? I guess we will find out. lol

@porwest It always has before (other than one instance), no reason to think it will not this time.

@GoAskAlice By that, do you mean, yes, it is still calculating earnings? Just wanting to clarify. But thanks for the response.

Thanks, Alice! I’d rather have myLot back than the bank working. I was suffering serious withdrawals yesterday.

I heard about the Amazon thing on the radio (while driving) and wondered if it was related to MyLot being down. Thanks for the info.

No, 30% of global commerce is dependent on AWS.

I like how Mark Wilson (writer for tech radar) described what started as a simple DNS error turns out to be a massive earth quake causing an "outage". Can hardly wait for the next news about a server issue. "Jerry plugged in his EV and it was over the top just enough to bring down the eastern seaboard grid?" Dang those massive data centers.
