An unexpected, BIG perk-up!

If you know me, you know I love my coffee. I have loved it for most of my life--since I was a young girl. To me, dark roast is the best. Not a cream and sugar girl, just the plain good coffee. Brands don't usually matter a lot, although over time I have discovered a couple of brands that are horribly bitter, and I avoid those.
My daughter went to her friend's house recently and had coffee. She loved the coffee (she drinks hers like I do!) and asked her friend the brand...the friend showed her the FIVE POUND bag she purchased online that a friend recommended. And miracle of miracles, it's a lot less than any coffee at the store. But the name threw us for a loop!
Daughter went crazy and ordered it for herself, and one for her Mama. I didn't know she was doing this, but the package arrived today. With coffee prices climbing every single week and no end in sight, this was an extremely welcome ''perk'' and I am happy! It's not even my birthday or anything...
A wonderful surprise!!!
Hqve you had any good surprises lately?

I was surprised when I heard the price for five pounds was $22.00. The cheapest coffee anywhere around here is usually at least $6 for 12 oz. And I noticed on my last trip to the store that many of the coffee brands have now shrunk the 12 oz. package to 10.oz., for the same price. Ahhhh ''shrinkflation!'' Less product, more money!!

I am glad the coffee is good. I bought coffee because the price is increasing, I do not care about chocolate, I can do without it.

It’s good that you are ahead on your coffee supply, with the price of it climbing up constantly. Yes, a very weird name, for sure. But the coffee is good!

@MarieCoyle I looked on Amazon and found the big bag. Wish I could get a small bag first in case hubby doesn't like it

It was good. It's a dark roast but not offensively dark. But I know people like different strengths and brews, so I do get it.

@MarieCoyle my daughter and I enjoy our morning coffee together before she heads to work. It's a great bonding time isn't it. I'm blessed to have a great relationship with my daughters even if my older one doesn't drink coffee (have no idea where she came from
)
BTW just wanted to let you know I ordered some of that coffee. Looking forward to trying it

She and I have been coffee people for years and years. Many a special moment and memory made between us over a cup of coffee! Thanks, Marilyn.

My bestie ordered a bag of it, too. She and I both like our coffee the very same, as well as the daughter--so we knew she would like tihs, too. I hope you like the coffee!
I have two sons and two daughters, and they all drink coffee. My oldest girl is truly my coffee buddy, and my son that has been so ill doesn't drink it like he used to now, just occasionally. But the other three, and me--we suck that magic down on a daily basis!
I am in a state of shock and the prices of coffee, and supposedly it will get a lot worse.

Yes, I have and it’s very good. I have not seen it available anywhere in my area for a long time now, unfortunately.

I may have to check out that brand!!! where did she get it? I have to admit I took a page from Jim Bauer resident penny pincher about adding some of the bagged coffee from Big Lots into my can of Aldi coffee, which was a decent deal. That bagged coffee was like 1.99 for 10 bags or something. I noticed lately Amazon has been posting the cost per oz. for the coffee they are selling. That's helpful.

Snowy, it came from Amazon. The price went up two dollars but I checked the listing and it’s still the cheapest ground coffee listed.

How nice. Does it have a smooth flavor or that ashtrayish(bitter?) strong flavor that many types have? I don't drink much coffee unless we order out for some from a local coffee shop. I have not been able to find one that has a smooth flavor and doesn't have that bitter ashtray smell and flavor.
These types of surprises are so nice aren't they? We got our letter from Housing today and our rent only went up $16. That was a pleasant surprise.

@MarieCoyle .........I just don't care for the strong brews. It's good that this one doesn't have that bitter taste. I don't like that at all.
Yes, the rent news was very good. I like good surprises too.

Oh, I'm sorry it gives you heartburn. I'm lucky, the only time I have ever suffered from heartburn, was the times I was pregnant, and those days are long gone!

@MarieCoyle It's just me. I can't handle orange juice now, either. I had orange juice in a restaurant one morning and had a stomach ache for most of that day.

Coffee is acidic, as is OJ, which does give some people heartburn.

I think it says, you found what works for you and you like it. I drink instant in a pinch, and I do keep it in my pantry. But for my daily coffee, I just brew a regular pot.
