I Got a Call From “ICE”

I never answer calls if I do not recognize the number. I noticed two calls on my phone, I did not answer and they never called again.

I got one yesterday from my own area code, they claimed to be collecting money for the sheriff's department. It was flagged as spam, so I didn't answer it--and they left that message. Evidently a lot of people got the call, but it was fake, I looked it up. Today, it was on the local news as a hoax and they said they caught the people doing it. Good. I know some people fall for this stuff, unfortunately.

@ambiepam Some sick wee pervert is still trying to get me to change my life insurance. Singing my answer hasn't dissuaded him.

I haven't gotten one recently but they seem to come in spurts. That one from ICE is new to me and scams just seem to be around all the time these days. It's just sad when people fall for them and give up personal information or get sucked into giving money.

It's been awhile for a scam call but I get those toll fine, attempted deliveries, amazon account frozen, etc. texts. I report and delete. I had to stop my girlfriend from answering a toll one. I told her that is a scam. She was trying to remember if she drove by one on a trip. I told her they would not have texted her and she would know if there was a toll.

I have had a few over the years . One says I have won a large amount of money in a competition that was several months ago, so I may of forgotten I had entered ( of course I never did ). They just need my bank details and a small amount of money to cover admin costs. They will send the money that day. Yeah right !

Playing on everyone's fears or trying to. I wonder how many people they fool? Obviously not you.

I don't know if it's a scammer but I gotten a couple calls from a chatty fellow claiming to be calling on behalf of the 'police association.'

Here's one for you. It's been emails. Totally off the wall and rather not funny emails that have landed in my junk box: from Trump. The last one I found said "This is your president." Like I cared. That doesn't carry any weight from me.

Scammers will latch on to anything if they get the chance.

Funny, like anyone working for the gestapo, excuse me ICE would have a Hispanic accent..Stupid criminals in action. ICE has been recruiting here. Who's paying for all this anyway? Probably the wages from the fired federal employees..

ICE agent with a Hispanic accent....that would have put up a red flag for me right there--of course, I live in California...

I have not got a scam call in a long time. We have blocked all of their numbers.

We still get a good many. I can’t recall what the last one was about.
