1st Trip to NYC in my New Mazda!

I was a bit skeptical at first as if I wanted to take my new Mazda CX9 to the city or just go in my daily driver.
For those who know New York City is not for the faint of heart when it comes to driving. From crazy taxi drivers, to public MTA buses that drive like they are in cars and the loads of pedestrians, it can be overwhelming.
But hey, I decided to suck it up , buckle up and take the family to the city to spend our Sunday with my mother in law. Overall the drive wasn't too bad just about an hour and a half from Connecticut. to Manhattan on a Sunday.
We enjoyed our evening, had some really good pizza and drove back home around 7 pm when the traffic began going down.
Hope you all had a good Sunday

I'm glad the trip was successful and you all had a good time.
I drove around New York when I was in my 40s to take my daughter to college in Pennsylvania and then around it again to go pick her up and bring her home once she graduated from college. I didn't enjoy the trips and hope never to need to do that again!
I will say that driving around the bigger cities was much better than what I experienced when I drove through Los Angeles when my daughter and I went out for a vacation to Disney Land when she was 7 or 8 years old. Terrifying traffic out there!

@BACONSTRIPSXXX I've had my fun of driving snow and ice roads and highways. I'm done with all that stress.

I’ve only ever seen it on tv but it’s not a place I would drive around.
Well done for being brave though.

Yeah it was a bit nerve wrecking with the crappy drivers and bad roads but we made it there and back fine with no problems

Glad you enjoyed your day there. Sis once drove into Manhattan, but don't think I would be brave enough for that. I have driven in DC though.

Glad that you had a good time. I have been to NYC a few times, but never even got out of the plane. It was military flights. I wish that I could have spent a bit of time there. Maybe one day.

Chris, my boyfriend, had said that we would go to NYC while I up in NJ next week. Not sure if we will. I have been NYC several times. Once with my high school band (we had a concert in NJ and then went to NYC to see the sights), and two times with Chris and his mother.

My relatives and myself used to visit New York City to visit my late uncle and cousin from my late father's side of the family.

? Glad you had an enjoyable family time . . . any drive is worth that
