Happy Veterans Day! A salute to all of those who put on the uniform (except the guy in the Village People, of course 
). There are some songs, when you mention “instrumentals,” that come to mind immediately. I think this is one of them. Let’s find out if I’m right with today’s song.

There are theme songs, and then there’s this. This is such an iconic song that it’s hard to remember that it began life as a movie theme.
In terms of chart success, this wasn’t Henry Mancini’s biggest success. That went to “Love Theme From Romeo and Juliet,” which was #1 for two weeks. Sure, it topped the chart, but can you hum it the way you can this one? 
This song won three Grammy Awards…and generations of fans.

Who doesn't love this song? Ok, maybe the new generation hasn't heard it yet but I'll bet they'll like it when they do.
K, I'z been tip toeing around Tuffy, he's planted hisself in the middle of the path I walk ....... typical kitty but at least he ain't tryin to trip me.

Coincidentally, only today, I mentioned “The Pink Panther” to @LindaOH 
Great song, and the movies were brilliant, with the inimitable Peter Sellars. I also enjoyed watching the cartoon version.
