I do not not know what exactly I was expecting, but Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch did not impress. We were looking at other things to do on our way to Anaheim, so my sister found Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch on the internet, and we were off. It was a lot of winding road, and what you see is what we saw. When I thought of trees made with bottles I guess I expected more…whatever more is. When is the last time you were underwhelmed? By the way, we’re all glad we went anyway.

Geez, I hope y'all didn't spend a fortune for that. The Chinese food I had yesterday was underwhelming. I didn't want to spend 10.00 more to get what I really wanted so I went with a different dish on the lunch menu, and it was not that great..not like the one I wanted would have been. At least it was a learning experience. I am not going to order that dish again.

It was free, don’t worry! We only went after we found out it was free. I wish you could have heard our laughter when we pulled up. I’m sorry the meal was disappointing yesterday. I was disappointed this afternoon when my BIL wanted to eat at Denny’s. And then…I had the Sizzlin’ Bourbon Glazed Chicken with roasted broccoli, mushrooms, potatoes, onions and peppers. I was absolutely shocked how delicious it was. I mean, Denny’s?

So, what did you want but not order? And what was it that you did order?

@AmbiePam Denny's is pretty good. it is probably like IHOP though better in some locations than others due to whether it is a franchise IHOP or independently owned. The IHOPs that are by friends are excellent, and the one in Richmond is good. There is one in this county though...not so hot.

Not really impressive, but at least you know now. Two years ago, we visited a little museum in Switzerland and I thought it was a total waste of time. Not at all interesting.

@AmbiePam Exactly, I expected to see many interesting old drawings and I only saw modern posters that you can easily find online.

The last time I went to Six Flags. It was not as fun as it had been when I was a kid.

Aw, I’m sorry. Did you hear they are all closing? It’s a shame.

@AmbiePam Yes, I read that. It surprised me because it had been around for so long.

Oh, you went on a cloudy day! When Pretty and I went there it was a bright, sunny day and everything seemed to sparkle and shine. It was really pretty... Granted, that was several years ago. (I think it was in 2019 but I could be off a year or two.) I hope you're all enjoying the trip so far.

We are definitely enjoying it. It rained (sprinkled) off and on until 11am, and then the sun came out for good.

The underwhelm happens now and again. I am glad it was free. I likely would have gone through looking for any bottles like some I have. I would have loved the laughter, though.

Hmm well that is different.. I think I would have felt underwhelmed too. I guess the last time was when my one daughter took me to this thrift place that she loves. I mean it was alright but not what I thought it was. Thou I did get a few things, I was just expecting I guess more from the way she talked.

Yeah, sometimes someone talks so highly about a place, so I go, and it’s like, what? This is it? But you don’t want the other person to know you’re disappointed.

I was underwhelmed by the service I received (or lack thereof) at the store when I was looking for clothes today.

I think I would have been as underwhelmed as you were but then again it gave you a lot to talk about.

We've had a few meals where we've been underwhelmed. I'm glad this was free. It doesn't really look too special.

I can't think of a time when I was underwhelmed. I usually enjoyed what we went to see.

Amber, are those trees… made of sticks… and bottles? I can’t see very well. Interesting. You in New Mexico? My Uncle Ronnie lives there. Very “crafty” state. Try to visit the caves if you can, they’re loaded with bats. I believe they’re in Carlsbad. If you’re in New Mexico. Enjoy your travels

Yes, that is what they are. I love Carlsbad Caverns! Unfortunately, that wasn’t on our way while we were in New Mexico, but the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest were gorgeous. But I would have loved to have gone back to Carlsbad!

Yeah... someone had too much time on their hands (not to mention bottles). No deposit/return system there?

That definitely was underwhelming. I have to think about it. I can easily call something disappointing when it really is, but underwhelming, I don’t think I’ve considered.
