Dolly nailed it with this one.

I was aware that Dolly Parton has a line of mixes and things to cook and bake, but had never tried one. I most generally just make whatever I make from scratch, and never use mixes. But my daughter loves anything cinnamon, and she saw this cake mix. She bought two, one to try and one to give to me. I've had it about a week, so I decided today was the day to give it a whirl.
It is really delicious! I was rather surprised how good it is. Well, Dolly is old school and she likes to cook, so I shouldn't have been surprised. Daughter did say it is more expensive than most mixes. I think what makes it so good is that the streusel sugar stuff has molasses in it. But Dolly blew this out of the water, it's really good.
I rather like supporting Dolly, as she is such a giver--to many organizations, she kicks in when there is a disaster, and has been there for many. No, I doubt I will start madly buying mixes to try, but this was really delicious.
Picture is mine, I could not get it without the glare. Oops.

That explains the spatula I was recently sent to review. It was from a line of Dolly Parton’s cooking supplies, and I hadn’t known it was a thing (it’s cute as can be). Now that you mentioned her baking mixes I want to try them!
There used to be a contest each year, and you voted for which state would get 100 children’s books donated to your local library. One year Oklahoma won, and I thought that was the coolest thing. She is an amazing philanthropist, and an even better person. Oddly, she’s also my BIL’s 4th cousin! Of course, he’s never met her. Lol

Yes, she has a line of cooking things, hot pads, spatulas, decorations as well. I've not been tempted as I concentrate on affording food, like most of us do, but they are cute. Yes, I agree--she is amazing and the world needs more Dolly's!!
Hey, at least BIL can claim relation to her!

It was soft and tender and spiced perfectly. Best boxed mix I have ever tried--granted, I don't have wide experience in trying them, but I have tried a few in the past and was never really impressed. This one is a keeper.
Oh, tiramisu!! I bet it's delicious when you make it!

I know mixes are very popular and easy, but it’s not hard to make a scratch cake. I often taste something and look up a copycat recipe, and they work out just great.

I was surprised that my daughter wanted to try it, they don't buy mixes either as a norm. But she admires what all Dolly does, and wanted to support her, so she bought two of these. Soooo good!

She truly is a wonderful lady, very generous. I make a homemade coffee cake that we really love a lot, but for a mix, this was truly delicious.

I like the idea that you endorse supporting a person who is a giver.

I think Dolly is very sincere, and she shares because she knows it helps people. She doesn't expect any return. She helps animal shelters and people and has a lot of things going on to help. Supporting someone who does all of that is a tiny way we can help, too.

I'm a cinnamon lover too although I get tired of it at times and am rather picky about how it is used. Molasses is a great flavoring for things. I use it in some things I cook/bake. Yes, Dolly is such a good person, and I enjoy her so much. I would support her too just that we don't get her brand here. Yeah, most things with a good brand will cost more. I tend to get a lot of the store brand here. It's been proven time and time again to be just as good.

I saw that they were on the pricier side too . . . buy hey, if you have a Grocery Outlet near you, they have a few of her mixes for a dollar something now (I'll have to look for this one!). Yes, she is generous with her charitable work
.

I still think scratch is the best way to go. And to some extent we can control just what is in our food that way!

I wouldn’t expect anything less. I think Dolly is as generous as they come, but I also think she’s a little protective of her name as a “brand.” There’s a sign at Dolly’s Stampede in Pigeon Forge that says, The most fun in the Smokies! I guarantee it!,” the promise being if you’re not satisfied with the meal or the entertainment you can get your money back. Nobody in their right mind would ask for their money back. I was actually apprehensive that my mom wouldn’t like it, but she LOVED it. So did I.
So the notion that the cake mixes (and they have them pre-made and frozen now, I saw in the grocery store recently) are outstanding quality is no surprise at all. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea (dang Yankees
), but most people will be satisfied.

She may be protective of her name, I can understand that. Not all celebrities are so generous, and I do like that she shares with so many to help others. Plus, she helps support animal shelters, and that means a lot to me, too. I have only been to Dollywood, and that was quite a few years back, I went with my oldest son and his family. We had a great time there!
I didn't realize she had frozen products, but honestly I am a creature of habit with shopping in the frozen sections--and I generally walk by the desserts or avoid them if at all possible.

Oh, and if you do get it you need real butter for the mix. But it's worth it.

I've seen those Dolly mixes but have never bought any since they are more expensive than most cake mixes. However, since you said it's delicious and I do love a good combination of crumble and cinnamon I am going to have to try it. I also love Dolly but didn't really know she had a line of cooking/baking things other than cake mixes.

@MarieCoyle I do love a good coffee cake and it would be nice to have this handy. I always think it's good to have something easy to whip up in case of company but I'd probably wind up making it and eating it myself
I'm sure your coffee cake is DEE-licious

Yes, I have seen Dolly kitchen towels, spatulas, decorations, etc. as well as the cake mixes. And they are more expensive than others. My daughter bought this one and gave it to me, I doubt I ever would have purchased it as I make a mean coffee cake. But it was delicious.

Well, not sure if mine is better but according to the kids, of course it's the best. I was just so pleasantly surprised to find a mix that was so good. I should have known...it is Dolly's, after all!
