Poor Bruno . . .

Bruno went in and out and in and out one more time this morning as I was hurrying to leave. I knew Bob would look for him to come back in after a while.
It is not really cold here. In fact it was 50 something Fahrenheit. . . but we are under a wind advisory. It really picked up, and in fact it broke off part of our remaining cedar tree in the front of the house.
I do not know if that scared Bruno, or if the wind got him disoriented, or what. When I got home Bob had not been able to find him all day. So I started calling him.
Usually when I drive in the driveway, Bruno is waiting to stare me down and command I let him in and give him treats, but today he was not.
Pedro even went out and looked for him. To no avail.
As supper was cooking I started taking out trash. Bruno woke up, I guess, because he began calling for me to let me know he wanted in. He came in, had treats and is staying very close to us now.
Poor baby spent close to ten hours outside with no food, no water, no people to do his bidding. He is none the worse for the wear. I bet he does not do this tomorrow.

Why Bruno keeps going out and in, it's because he's looking for a female dog to mate.

Nope. He is a cat. He is neutered. He is chasing bunnies and birds.

@Nakitakona He does not even get close to catching them. He will eat bugs. I think he just enjoys the chase.

@GardenGerty I don't let my cat out. I don;t need that stress of not knowing whether he will come back or not..or bringing me "presents" getting ticks or fleas etc.

@snowy22315 I go out and get my own ticks doing yard work. I have always had indoor outdoor cats. Sometimes as they get older they restrict themselves from outdoors. Each of the cats has their own lawn chair by the door.

He came in and of course had food, water, and treats and found his favorite soft, warm things to cuddle up on.

He finally listened up, I guess, when I called him. I worry about foxes and coyotes around here. I think he is too heavy to climb a tree. On the other hand he is also too heavy for a bird of prey to pick up.

@DaddyEvil Jane has "barn cats" at her home and they do disappear regularly.

@GardenGerty When I was a kid, we often lost farm cats to coyotes. Something would happen to them from time to time, at least.

I learned to never let my dogs run lose unless they were in
a fenced yard Or on a 20 foot leash where they couldn't
run lose cause they have a thing about ending in places
they don't belong & get hurt killed or lost.

@2ndchances24 When my sister had him, she called him Zeus, but to me he did not look like a Greek god. He looked more like a cuddly bear, and Bruno means bear.

Yeah, Bruno is a cat and does not have a fence, nor a leash. He has a place that he likes to hide during the day if the weather is nice, just at the side of my yard. That is where part of the tree fell today, and I think he was scared to come through the debris to come to the door.

I think I would make sure he was in the house before I left next time. So, he was just napping somewhere?

He was hiding from the awful wind, I believe. I had him in, but he wanted to check out the fresh air and I was already late for work.

Very much so. He is cautious usually, but the weather seemed really nice in the morning. It is so tempting for him.

Yes, they do. Bruno likes to go out, but he does get easily frightened.

So are we. I am sure the falling tree scared him. He is very tender hearted and timid, really.
