An inconvenient death.

I never did make it to music practice yesterday. I made it onto Highway 4, which I call "Gun Alley," and wound up at a dead stop about three miles in.
I turned on the radio and learned that someone had run into traffic while fleeing the police and been run over by a car.
All lanes were shut down.
Unfortunately, I could not turn around (BART tracks) and was three miles from the next exit.
After about an hour, I was able to "crawl" to the next exit (they finally opened two lanes).
I considered finding an alternative route to my friend's house, but decided just to
head home.
I am glad I was in my new truck (Nissan), and not my aging Chevy Silverago. My Silverado did not like sitting in traffic for a long time.
As I have said many times, I wish our local criminals would be more considerate of others. Every time there's a shooting (or other incident) on Highway 4, traffic gets snarled, sometimes for hours.

I don't think they care about anyone but themselves.

@kaylachan I don't see it as an excuse. Just a partial explanation. I have not heard anything about this fella yet.

If only criminals had thought for others, what a different world it would be.
Happy Holidays.

I wouldn’t want to get run over by a car. Sitting in traffic is the worst. Sometimes there’s traffic on the side of the highway that has no accident because cars slow down to look at what’s going on on the side that does.

@lovebuglena I don't know that I have experienced that.

@TheHorse I find it weird when there’s heavy traffic on the highway and then all of a sudden the cars start driving and it seems like the amount of cars greatly decreases.

You need to co-ordinate your practises for times when there isn't criminal activity...

Such incidents happen also in India too. Criminals who flee are at times killed in an accident and the same story of roads getting closed resulting to commuters inconvenience.

How inconsiderate. Seriously though, I'm sorry that someone was run over. I'm also sorry that it held up traffic for you.

I'm glad you made it home safely, even if it did ruin your plans for the afternoon/evening yesterday.

Criminals are worried to run away from the police, they don't think about others.
