How is your water?

I drink bottled water (yes, I recycle). I didn’t always, but the water at my apartment tastes terrible. I used to be able to tolerate it because I’d put it in the freezer to get it ice cold. That quit working, and eventually putting things like Mio couldn’t overcome the taste. I DID get it tested by the city (they do it for free), and they said they it didn’t test positive for any of the bad things they test (for).
Funny thing is, my dad’s water comes from the same source as my apartment water. Lest you think it’s in my head, my dad can’t even stand the water from my sink, and he only drinks tap water. I asked around, and no one drinks the water in this apartment complex. Even the manager brings water from her home. We all just figure it’s the old pipes.
“Luckily”, you can buy a 24 pack of bottled water from Walmart for $3.00 (what it cost me two weeks ago). Just one gallon in a jug is even cheaper.

Before we had a good potable water coming from a spring. Now it tsstes bad due to the eruption of Mt. Canlaon. So we buy bottled mineral water insread.

@AmbiePam And before the water is free for the consumers or users. But now it's commercialized.

My water is good, comes from a deep well but I am not convinced there are no contaminants in it so I mostly drink bottled.

My water tastes okay. I like to put it in the fridge to get it cold.

Our water has a slight chlorine taste but not nearly as strong as surrounding towns/cities. It tastes fine to us. I even drank the water from the Walmart fountains in Republic when I worked there and it tastes strongly of chlorine. *shrug*

What’s even more odd that if I take a shower at my apartment my skin breaks out in a terrible rash. When I shower at my dad’s house nothing happens. I even changed the shower head, but it doesn’t matter. My skin breaks out and itches like crazy.

Here, the water we get from the taps is not good enough for drinking.
We have an RO (Reverse Osmosis) system.
Some houses use Water filters.
We cannot directly use tap waters.
I have seen and read that Scandinavian countries and Switzerland have tap water fit for drinking.
Very rarely elsewhere.

When I lived in NY we had the best water that you could drink right from the tap. But, although our water here in PA isn't bad I prefer to drink filtered water. Luckily I have a dispenser on my refrigerator so all I have to do is change the filter maybe twice a year,
Getting water from Walmart sounds like a better solution to your sink water.

I drink the tap water here. It is fine IMO.
I don't like using bottled water. Even though we recycle plastic around here I still feel guilty about it. I have a big Stanley tumbler that I use. At work we have water filling stations. In the morning here I fill it up with ice cubes but don't add the water until I get to work. It just makes my work bag a bit less heavy.

I admit I feel bad about it too. I took a tumbler to Disneyland, and it was so much more convenient because they had water filling stations, and then when we’d stop at a fast food place I’d just fill it to the top. It never leaks unlike bottled water. Well, the cheap bottled water I buy leaks, anyway.
I figured it also had to be the pipes because when I take a shower here my skin breaks out in a rash, and I itch. Nothing happens when I shower at my parent’s home.

I drink water from my fridge; but the filter hasn't been changed in years.

Branded bottled water is the biggest con going. Its just tap water. In the U.K we have clean drinking water yet people , especially foreigners, buy it by the crate load. Young women here seem to think it will keep their skin smooth but just getting a gut full o microplastics

I buy the generic, and it tells you where it is from, which is basically tap. I buy it because it simply tastes better. I’m not worried about micro plastics. I don’t expect to live long anyway.
There is something very wrong when your water causes you to break out in a visible rash and make your skin itch.

When I first moved here, I had some issues with getting used to the water, it is way softer water than what I had where I used to live. But it doesn't taste bad. I have a Britta thing with a spout I keep in the refrigerator that son likes, he wants super cold water. I do keep some bottled water for car trips, etc. and emergencies as well.

In our town our water source is a spring. It tastes good to me. I know it is heavily mineralized, though. I just assume that it makes strong bones. At school they have installed those filtered water fountains to fill our water bottles. When I visit Guthrie I do not like the city water. It tastes musty and moldy to me. My brother has a home outside of town but does not want us to drink the water (well water) as he has not had it tested.

Drinking fresh bottled water is more safer for the healthy.
