They turned the water off.

I wondered this morning if somehow my pipes had frozen despite my precautions because I couldn’t get any water. After several hours of trying to reach someone they (apartment complex) finally sent out a mass text telling us the water would be shut off until further notice. The last time we got no notice the water was off for 34 straight hours. That was when a few of you informed me that wasn’t legal, and that if they couldn’t provide water they were supposed to put us somewhere that did. Of course, it was too late then to do anything, but if this goes that way I’ll definitely be making a call about it.

That place!! Remind me never to live in public housing, and I am sorry you have to. How much discomfort do they expect you to put up with?
Shame on those people...makes me mad.

@AmbiePam I thought those terms were interchangeable. Hard to imagine anything worse actually.

@snowy22315 To be fair, and I always try to be fair, from the outside, my place doesn’t look bad. You have to live here to actually know how bad it is. And, I’m blessed to live in a building with no kids. The buildings with kids are mayhem.

Call right now. Code enforcement, etc. It’s the law, they have to comply!!!

Tell them about the last time and it taking 34hours!! No notice, nothing. An apartment building a few blocks away had a main line break two days ago. They took ten gallons of water to each unit for one day until it was fixed!

Yes! They have to provide water for you. Or put you up in a hotel until they fix the problem. Did they say why the water was shut off?

That is really so bad. Water is really an important thing and we cannot live without that

That’s really frustrating, especially with no prior notice. Water is a basic necessity, and being without it for that long is not acceptable. I hope this gets resolved quickly, and if it doesn’t, you’re absolutely right to make that call. Tenants deserve proper communication and access to essential services.

Too bad but I will say burst pipes is worst. My last winder in Latvia the temps went so low the pipes burst in my old house. Until the day I left there was not water in that house and I still sold it,

Oh my goodness! I'm praying hard for you and the other tenants. Do you have things to drink? But it's bad to have no water.

Good grief I can't believe they turned off your water with no notice. Hope you made a call and got some sort of answer,
