Hubs Has Been So Ill

Just when I returned to myLot and enjoyed every moment here, I had to pause my activity. I won’t go into the details, but hubs was so very sick. He’s starting to feel better today and well enough to eat something besides soup. My brother made a batch of short ribs for us a couple of days ago not knowing his brother-in-law was ill. I picked up at his condo. I didn’t go inside in case I was contagious with whatever hubs had. It wasn’t the flu or covid. So tonight’s dinner will be delicious short ribs loaded with carrots, peas, lentils, onions, potatoes, and whatever else was thrown in. Hubs believes he can handle a small portion. So, what’s for dinner at your place tonight?

I am so sorry Dianne, I hope your husband was fine enough to enjoy his dinner. My husband is not very well and he eats so little. I made a beef stew for dinner yesterday evening.

@DianneN - My husband is napping now. He stayed a couple of hours at his computer and now he is exhausted.

Thank you and yes, he finally was able to have a little dinner without getting sick. I’m sorry about your husband, but know you take good care of him. Beef stew on a cold night is extra delicious.

That sounds delicious! We are eating leftovers from a huge ham I bought the other day. Slicing it and eating it with a couple of veggies: broccoli, califlower and ??

@DianneN Friend is like that as well, as is Looeyville's husband. You aren't typically vomiting with a cold.

I'm sorry that he got sick, although I am glad that he's feeling better. Last night I got home a little after dinner due to working at the office. My husband made some hot dogs for dinner.

@DianneN At least he's getting better, which is the important thing. It is nice of him to do it. I've been working until 5:30, so he's been in charge of dinner. Starting next I finish a bit earlier so maybe I can help some nights. Hot dogs can be a great dinner option sometimes.

There's so much going around these days it's hard to pinpoint exactly what you have. I know so many people who are sick and it's weeks before they feel better. Hope your hubby is able to enjoy your dinner. It certainly sounds good

@DianneN Gee a stubborn man???? I hope he's on the mend and doesn't need a doctor. Whatever is going around does hit hard and last for awhile. It's definitely more than a cold.

I’ve heard of so much illness going around, too. He thinks it’s a cold, but it’s not, in my opinion. He’s thinking of going out today, but I’m trying to convince him to stay home and take it easy. He’s so stubborn! He did enjoy his dinner of solid food and didn’t get sick. Thank goodness! I’m just exhausted taking care of him, getting him meds and preparing soups, reminding him to drink liquids, and cleaning up after him - not to mention worrying and trying to make him see a doctor. As I said, he’s so stubborn!!!

I'm glad to hear that your hubby is a bit better. I hope you don't get sick. I will probably just have a sandwich for dinner. Cousin #2 makes me 4 or 5 meat sandwiches for the week plus some PB&J sandwiches. I get Meals on Wheels for lunch Monday through Friday.

I'm glad your hubby is feeling better and hope he is 100% very soon. I laid out some pork loin to thaw this morning and am planning on baking it in barbecue sauce and microwaving a bag of vegetable steamers. (The bag I'm planning on microwaving has potatoes, green beans, carrots and onions in it.)
