I got a text message from the neurologist's office telling me to set up the next appointment at their online portal with a link to it. Pretty took my phone and set up the appointment. The soonest they could get me in will be September 3rd at 9:40 am. At least it won't be dark going to the appointment or coming home from it.

Your regular doctor cannot be happy about this. They got you in quick to see a lady buffoon, but September 3rd is the closest they get you in to talk about your brain? That’s maddening.

My regular doctor doesn't know yet. I don't think she'll be happy about it, either, but there's not much she can do. Pretty did sign up for an earlier appointment if someone cancels.

@DaddyEvil Maybe your doctor can do a little maneuvering. When my dad was being put off for surgery (for his neck) his doctor raised some heck. He said it was way too serious to wait months to get to. At least you’re on the list for cancellation. I’ll be praying you get one soon.

@AmbiePam Thank you. Somebody else canceling their appointment worries me. WHY did they cancel? Did they pass away or did they find a better doctor somewhere?

Goodness, September 3rd! It's a very long waiting, but not a cold and dark month at least.

@DaddyEvil - I always do the same for my husband, often we can obtain a shorter waiting time.

@LadyDuck A couple of months ago I was on a waiting list and they called while I was asleep. When I woke up and tried to accept the new time, they said it was too late. *shrug*

Pretty got me on the waiting list if somebody cancels their appointment. Maybe we can get in faster than that.

this is the first time I've heard of a schedule that long.

Most of the time, the longest we wait for an appointment with a specialist here is six months but, for special cases, it can be over a year. IF there is a real need to rush an appointment, then the doctors can choose to "work a person in" earlier than that.

They must be mighty busy for it to take so long for you to get n appointment. That is better than a year from now, right?

No, it's around 8 months from now. And yes, they must be really busy.

Yes, it is. The other specialists I see also have long wait times to get in to see them, too.
